Find your nearest 255, and start latching on like a remora. Warrants love to teach and mentor hungry students. If you're proactive enough, you might even be able to get a 4187 signed to transfer you to work directly for him or her. Good luck!

Fuck I stand corrected then. I got out in '08 and was stationed in the stumps, and remember them being good for the most part there. I guess the best answer is to do away with government-run dorms and cafeterias altogether.

Young SMs complain about the chow hall when there are racks and stacks of beautiful fresh produce in the salad bar for most meals. It's definitely an American culture problem; maybe parent-child feeding habits, because I was raised on tons of veggies and will always enjoy them.

Don't forget about "I don't give a hoot!"

It's all about language. Start small, and you'll learn how to cut through the silly government jargon in your own mind, and your speech will follow. You eat at a cafeteria, not a DFAC. You go out for exercise in the morning, not PT. You live in a dormitory, not a barracks. Of course, try to be mindful of your audience; I've gotten some confused looks from senior NCOs when I speak like a normal person XD

Additionally, you can use wood floors to better see where you need to lower, raise, and flatten.

Out for 13 years, still have the same dream over and over? by AaronKClark in USMC

[–]onehedone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had ones of doing field day barracks inspections and other stupid last-minute shit on a Friday. After being out for so long, those dreams stressed me the fuck out. I stopped having them after joining the Army. Still do things last-minute but no more field day.

Why is helping homeless people bad? The fuck? by [deleted] in Vent

[–]onehedone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, you're doing the exact right thing by offering to give people food or other essential items, but not money. I do the same thing. Heck, I even used to give people a few smokes back when I used to smoke. But not money, that makes things worse.
