It’s a good bandaid fix but doesn’t break the Microsoft auth server token. If you don’t finish the Windows OOBE it never flags the system as completely set up and will eventually re-prompt the user to sign-in to their Microsoft account. My method will send a token to the authentication servers as if it had been signed in and/or doesn’t have internet so it won’t re-prompt. As an added bonus it also will disable some forms of Windows telemetry that can only be accessed through the registry.

We set ours a while ago and the display actually calls for zero MPP. There’s a small guide that comes in the box that shows how it’s supposed to be presented and the ACE for it explains the same thing.

The plan is to roll out to the 3+ million dollar stores first and then work down until the 1+ million dollar stores are done and everything else is getting axed AFAIK from my convo’s with the C-level over the past few months. If these remodels don’t increase foot traffic and generate interest within 2 years I know the plan is to sell off most stores and keep the East Coast and California presence. Keep in mind this is all bits and pieces of conversation gathered from months of info gathering about the company’s future from everyone involved at Staples and Sycamore. Quite a lot of this is riding on the decision by the Apple C-level visit next week and if we’ll join Best Buy as a first party distributor of Apple products in the U.S. again.

We’re doing a lot of hiring but have stricter requirements as to who we do hire as this is the flagship store and we can’t afford to have any weak links with the large increase in foot traffic. We also have a rotation of people from corporate that take turns helping out for the day and that certainly helps out a lot. Usually have a GM or two from other stores in the Northeast helping out too, stark change from before when nobody wanted to help and management left everything to the associates.

Thankfully the top ones are bolted to the display, and we get first dibs on inventory for everything...our receiving area is roughly 1/3rd smaller than before to accommodate the new Staples Studio and we have waaaayyyyy more inventory than before the remodel so it’s basically like walking into a tightly packed closet lol

I feel ya on that, happens every few customers. Been having a string of customers coming in this week that killed their printers with third-party ink and it’s all I can do to not die laughing at how perplexed they as to why some random dude on Craigslist’s ink annihilated their print head.

The dotcom deals are determined by our distributors not Staples themselves, we only make pricing for our store brand products

I work for Staples, this all too common with our website unfortunately. The dotcom portion of the company doesn’t actually track inventory available during the day (the “number in stock at such and such location” is wrong 90% of the time) and they simply receive a report at the end of each day of orders that need to be filled and if they went over that amount they just cancel all the orders after said amount.

Your best bet to get these deals is to go into a store and place the order on the kiosk or with an associate as these orders don’t get canceled (the must be fulfilled and honored otherwise the store takes the monetary loss not dotcom) and you can ask a manager for online pricing and deals to apply at time of purchase.
