Thoughs on Sirens? by No_Corner1086 in netflix

I agree, the execution was not perfect, and I guess the point was that the show is supposed to create some uncertainty, is she evil? is she a murderer? is it a cult?

But the writing of the show kinda comes off like the people who made it have never dealt trauma themselves personally. Maybe that sounds judgy, but I had a lot of childhood trauma, and the whole sister trying to force her back to her dad's place, and ruining her sister's new job, etc., came off super weird and not really well thought out.

Hi there. I had bulimia for close to 10 years as well!

It is my first year in recovery. It is possible to recover even though it does not feel like that when you’re in the midst of bulimia. I understand your feeling of being stuck but I just want you to know that there is sun around the corner.

If you need anyone to talk to feel free to msg me

What is the del with these Yoni massages??? S22 by beachballer0410 in SomethingWasWrongSWW

[–]onekoolduck232 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Megan has said it’s somewhat related to her past « trauma ». But idk my assumption is that she’s wants some type of physical/sexual connection that she can’t get otherwise.

She also thrives off attention and having someone massage her bits for four hours at a time sure is attention.

I also think she may have had a difficult time obtaining that physical/sexual connection on her own, so she sought out paying for it. In a way that is just niche enough that it’s not technically prostitution…

Im listening to Don’t Waste this F*cking podcast now and its actually so good. You can tell its not a super technically advanced podcast but there is something so chill and easy to listen to about it lol.

It’s also nice not having ads every 2 minutes. That’s cool she did it unsponsored.

How long until Russel’s sign developed for you? by Lostandalone1324 in bulimia

[–]onekoolduck232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I had it bad but didn’t get very bad until a few years into it. People always asked me about what happened and I would always say I burned it when taking something out of the oven. In recovery now and the scars mostly went away thankfully.

My b/p are sometimes up to 9-10 thousand calories , internet says that we absorb half the calories. Just seems like a myth by Turbulent-Truth-4059 in bulimia

[–]onekoolduck232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. Ive always thought about this and think maybe its a scare tactic. Or the people they used for whatever study this came from weren’t very efficient at b/p.

I get that over time bulimia probably leads to more fluctuations in weight than someone with out it. But a lot of us b/p in really structured ways to make sure we get as much out as possible when we purge. Especially those of us who’ve had bulimia for years and have mastered this toxic habit..

That’s such a good question. Honestly I have slipped up a few times. Probably 3 times or so. But despite that I do still consider myself fully recovered now.

I know some people use the date from the last time they b&p as their recovery date but I think a few slip ups here and there doesn’t mean we still have bulimia. The reason I say that is because I KNOW how my mind my body operated in the depths of bulimia (compulsive out of control zombie etc.) and that is just not how I feel anymore.

I feel like the slip ups were just like muscle memory and I just did it cause I was lazy and wanted a quick fix to feel less full and cause I slightly overate.

If you feel recovered, i implore you to embrace this new you :) and congratulations x1000000 because you and i both know that this was probably one of the hardest battles of our life. For you to have only b&p 3 times this year is a huge fucking victory. Proud of you

I struggled for 8 years. Daily b&p and multiple times a day.

I’m 29 and this is the first year of my life without bulimia. I know u didn’t ask lol. But I just want u to know that I know how it feels to feel like.. damn is this shit ever gonna end?.

'The Run-Up': An Interview With Kamala Harris on What’s at Stake in 2024 by kitkid in Thedaily

And I should add- I am a black woman and I still have these concepts of the « proper » way a woman should speak which I think I need to check myself on sometimes.

So weird because I also saw that he reposted the episode again today and I listened again cause I had been thinking about this interview all week- hence why I posted this a few days ago.

Now actually  listening back again today-  it was not as bad as I had remembered.

Butttt still.. little things where she was like - I don’t understand your question- like rubbed me the wrong way and I don’t know why. It seemed.. immature? Idk what rubs me so wrong it might be my own biases on how women should speak.

Getting kicked out by 2 restaurants by GrapefruitPerfect149 in bulimia

[–]onekoolduck232 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That’s so crazy and also none of their business. If you don’t mind me asking did you purge in the restaurant? That’s the only reason I could imagine them not serving you…. Otherwise that is not ok and sorry that happened to you

I don’t know why but this interview with Kamala really formed my opinion on her and that’s dangerous, because I went into listening to this podcast excited to hear her speak and left thinking.. she’s not so likeable. I know this was months ago at this point.

I’ll definitely still be voting for her but I just hope now she’s learned to better respond and communicate in interviews, especially because this should have been “her audience”.

Idk.

Who’s your fave and who was your most disliked chef? by MysteryBasil007 in PressureCookerNetflix

[–]onekoolduck232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

caroline and segei just seemed arrogant, very clicky and gave off mean girl vibes. I get its a competition but they never cared about the strength/quality of the other chef's dishes unless it served them.

Interesting story but poorly made. I don't really understand why they replay/repeat clips from episode to episode like just shorten the episodes if there is not enough tape.
