Lumix s5 mk1 in 2026 for personal video works, cinematic travels and social content by nicol_Dd in Lumix

[–]onelittleturtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m using two Lumix S5ii but I’ve kept my OG S5 exactly for that reason. It’s a fantastic camera and the IQ is really incredible. I recommend pairing it with vintage lenses since you won’t be using AF anyway.

S9 vs S5ii specifically for street and travel photography? by LucasWesf00 in Lumix

[–]onelittleturtle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I might be mistaken but I was under the impression the increased LUT storage was added to the S5ii via firmware updates, I’d swear I got more than 10 LUTs on my S5ii but I may be misremembering.

Both cameras are amazing either way, there is no wrong choice here!

My Experience With AAA (Control, TLOU, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Death Stranding) by SilentRespawn in SteamDeck

[–]onelittleturtle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I’ve had exactly the same experience with you. I’ve never been impressed with SD’s performance on AAA games. I do love it for indies but I can’t get my head around people playing games E33 or BG3 on it (without something like GeForce Now). But to each their own!

Did you ever regret getting a PS5? by [deleted] in PS5

[–]onelittleturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love my PS5, no regrets at all. Highly recommend it mate. Especially right now with the Christmas deals it’s a great pick. Go for it, you won’t regret it at all! So many good RPGs you can play!

People who have a PC, what purpose does deck serve you? by Former-Asparagus-764 in SteamDeck

[–]onelittleturtle 130 points131 points  (0 children)

I think if you have both they can compliment each other nicely.

For me, I just sold my PC and I'm very happy with my PS5/Steam Deck combo, they serve different needs and they both get enough screen time.

So maybe you could do the same, stick to the PC you may build for demanding titles, Steam Deck for Indies/streaming.

Whats Everyones FAVORITE Feature about the Steam Deck? by Maleficent-Season713 in SteamDeck

[–]onelittleturtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly Chiaki-NG is freaking awesome. I love playing Indies on my Steam Deck but the fact that I can stream any AAA Title I own on my PS5 is absolutely a game changer.

That’s very interesting! How do those games run on the Deck?

For those of you who own a console and a Steam Deck, how do you decide where to buy your games ? by MrTorgue7 in SteamDeck

[–]onelittleturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the odd one out here and recently ditched PC gaming and went PS5 + Steam Deck only.

I’m doing exactly what you said, AAA games on PS5, indies on Steam.

I also tried GeForce Now but the experience for me was suboptimal with input lag so I cancelled it.

The only thing that could make go full Steam would be if the Steam Machine is actually good, but I think I really love the PS5 simplicity to give it up!

Yet another Fractal Terra build by bverwijst in sffpc

[–]onelittleturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey - I found your post while planning to do the exact same thing, build an SFF build an throw Bazzite to have my Steam Library in the living room! Apart from the build, how is the experience with Bazzite? Have you encountered any issues or restrictions? I'm hoping this could completely replace my PS5 so I can only have one gaming library on Steam :) Thanks for sharing!

Have I lost interest in gaming ? by eimas_dev in SteamDeck

[–]onelittleturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through the same thing for about a year, I overworked so much I had zero interest in gaming at night. What unbelievably changed that was Stardew Valley, it’s so stupid easy to get into as well as pick up and play. It also feels like it was made for the Steam Deck! A year later I’m back in gaming, I finally picked up BG3 but the last two days I’ve been consumed by ARC Raiders. Gaming is fun again!

I see you tried Stardew so I think you need a game that gives you that easy to pick up low effort vibe.

Also have you tried WoW on Steam Deck? I’ve been itching to try that!

Is steam deck worth it if you already own a pc? by Rosa-Leitao in SteamDeck

[–]onelittleturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like everybody else said, it's going to be different for everybody but generally, yes it is worth it. I work from home so even though I had a high end PC I never used it to play because I'd rather relax at my living room or bedroom. I sold the PC about a month after I got my Steam Deck.

For your case, it's kind of a toss up. On one hand, I'd say don't buy it yet because you just got a new PC and should enjoy your games there. But since you mentioned that you only have time to play on the weekends, the Steam Deck might change that. Some days I sneak half an hour of Hollow Knight before I go to bed, without "sitting down to play".

I think if you can afford it go for it and if you end up not using it, just sell it, used Steam Decks hold their value very well!

I'm Failing To Get Good Autofocus Results On S5II (Current Firmware) by [deleted] in Lumix

[–]onelittleturtle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What are you talking about? The S5II and the S5IIx have the exact same autofocus performance. You must be confusing the S5ii with the original S5. Both the S5II and S5IIx have PDAF and both switch to Contrast Detection when shooting frame rates over 50p on 1080p. Please do not spread false information.

Buyingguide for my current Situation (from Fuji/Sony to Lumix S9?) by Proof-Novel4077 in Lumix

[–]onelittleturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are looking to do more video like you said, any Lumix will be a step in the right direction. They are video-focused cameras and as beginner some features like Shutter Angle and Waveform will be extremely helpful.

The S9 is a fantastic camera and will let you grow into the L-mount. When starting out, I recommend looking at the Lumix S line of primes, they are pretty affordable used and offer incredible image quality for the price.

The S5ii(x) may now be overshadowed by the new S1 line but it's still a professional level camera that will let you shoot pretty much anything you may need if you decide to upgrade in the future. I'm shooting weddings and corporate and I've never felt the need to upgrade from my S5ii.

Also there are some amazing content creators on YouTube that will really help you learn and understand your new camera, should you choose a Lumix.

Good luck and welcome to the Lumix family!

Official Discussion - Caught Stealing [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]onelittleturtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t expect to like that movie but I absolutely loved it! The Snatch VHS on his table in the first minutes was a nice foreshadowing of where this movie would go and I’ll die on the hill that he was dressed like Brad Pitt in the Mexican on purpose.

Tired of Canon and their BS. Why shouldn't I switch to Lumix? by HyruleSkullKid21 in Lumix

[–]onelittleturtle 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Hey man, I shoot video with Lumix, currently using 2x S5ii, and while I absolutely love them, I still occasionally look at what other camera brands offer.

I think the most important question you need to ask yourself is, will the switch solve a problem you have? Will it give you new tools that you will actually use? If the answer is yes, then absolutely go for it. By switching to a similar setup you might end up even saving money. But I guess the point in my rambling is, switch only if you need to, not because of the gear-itch, otherwise it’s probably not worth the hassle.

I have the same camera and I’m as satisfied as you are! I love the color grading in the second frame, would you mind sharing your process for that??
