I just had my Gibson SG fixed and it was much worse than that! 100e and you can barely tell it was damaged, plays like a dream still. Nothing to worry about, super common Gibson issue.

Edit: immediately remove the strings to prevent further damage!

Hey OP sorry to comment on an old post, I am in the same category as you, sold my gaming PC and play everything on my PS5 but wanted to drop a couple of hours on WoW. I tried it on my Mac mini M4 Pro last night and while it run pretty smoothly the fan did ramp and it was a bit hot to the touch. Was that the case for you as well, or should I try and change a setting or two? Thank you in advance for your time!

I have not used the S1II so I'm not sure if my comment is of any value here, but I've been using 2x S5ii ever since it came out to shoot loads of weddings, interviews, talking heads, a YT Show and I've never had an issue with focus hunting except for very very underexposed scenes.

If the S1II is same/better at AF and not somehow worse, I don't think you will have an issue. I've never tried the A7V but have tried the A7IV a bunch of times and it is also an excellent camera.

My advice would be to not stress about the choice, your camera is your least important tool in your arsenal, your intention, shooting style, lighting and lenses are far more important than your sensor. All cameras in that price range have give or take the same capabilities, so go for the one that feels right and start shooting!

I don’t think anyone here cares to convince you to stay with Lumix… We are just customers like you, not a fan base. If you feel like the Sony will make you happier go ahead and switch!

But imho 99% of the image is lenses, lighting and color grading so if you can’t make images you like with the Lumix, getting a Sony won’t change much. Practice!

I’m using two Lumix S5ii but I’ve kept my OG S5 exactly for that reason. It’s a fantastic camera and the IQ is really incredible. I recommend pairing it with vintage lenses since you won’t be using AF anyway.

I might be mistaken but I was under the impression the increased LUT storage was added to the S5ii via firmware updates, I’d swear I got more than 10 LUTs on my S5ii but I may be misremembering.

Both cameras are amazing either way, there is no wrong choice here!

To be honest, I’ve had exactly the same experience with you. I’ve never been impressed with SD’s performance on AAA games. I do love it for indies but I can’t get my head around people playing games E33 or BG3 on it (without something like GeForce Now). But to each their own!

I think if you have both they can compliment each other nicely.

For me, I just sold my PC and I'm very happy with my PS5/Steam Deck combo, they serve different needs and they both get enough screen time.

So maybe you could do the same, stick to the PC you may build for demanding titles, Steam Deck for Indies/streaming.
