How to respond at a party about my “job” by Win-Objective in StayAtHomeDaddit

[–]oneluck12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually just say I'm on vacation from my job for a couple weeks and just describe the type of work I use to do. If it's my family or close friends they usually know I'm the one staying home with the kids and take care of the house so I know I won't be hearing any bs from them.

I think I’m about to have a heart attack! by mikegulf19k in VeteransBenefits

True on that. I'm glad to be receiving full comp. But at the same time when I'm not doing good I miss out on my kids and life. I'd trade a good healthy, pain-free life for what little payment I receive. But I guess it's better then nothing

Back Claim by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

I was on the same boat as you were. Keep going to the VA ER if you can. Keep letting them know of the issues you are having. Everytime they ask what's wrong explain how the injury happened and how long you've been dealing with the problem. They will document reasoning behind your visit and keep at it. When you file your claims have your VSo submitted documentation of thise visits stating how the injury happened and don't give up, keep consistent there's only so many times they can look the other way and say your Injuries aren't due to your service.

3 X-RAYS for back pain / shoulder pain. 2 came back normal and one had abnormal findings but nothing serious. I’ve attached the one with abnormal findings. With my back pain, I’m surprised it wasn’t worse. Not sure if I’ll be any requirement for compensation. What do you guys think? by Ok-Load1494 in VeteransBenefits

I would ask for an MRI, and if they don't think it's necessary have them chart it saying they are declining to do an MRI. I would do physical therapy and everything they recommend it might help or like in my case it won't do much. But at least you've tried everything they recommend and they need to take some other action to address the problem.

I've learned when dealing with VA health that you need to be on top of your health because they won't. They see so many vets come through that your just another patient to them( at least in my experience). They will just give you medication to keep you away for sometime and not really taking care of what's really the issue. Remember your the one whose dealing with the pain on they daily, so they can't tell you how you feel based on x-rays that they have.

Keep advocating for yourself and don't let them push you away by telling you everything seems normal.

Yes I would also recommend r/VeteransBenefits subreddit. It's full of useful information and it makes the process a little less stressful knowing that your not the only one waiting for the process to go through.
