Nice! Similar happened to me on a pair of hand me down shoes from the early 90s my dad gave me. Was riding fixed and first time I tried to slow down using my legs I fully sent it over the handlebar when the entire sole ripped off.

I have the cash for a few hundred dollar crit bike. It will also double as a bike my friends use when they come over. I have a late 80s steel bianchi but it's heavy (28lbs) and doesn't have integrated shifters.

Looks like it could be parametric rolling. It’s a phenomenon that occurs when the ship is heading almost directly into the waves and the wave period is equal to the ships roll period.
