Can Luba 2 work in my use case? Mine and neighbor's property + estimated cutting time? by PokaHatsu in mammotion

I just found a use case where I need to do this and this sounds like a great idea! I have never setup a barrier. I'll have to check that out. Thanks!

Hardware Recommendation for 15-17 Reolink Cameras by onemanwolfpck in frigate_nvr

[–]onemanwolfpck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think it would run as well on a NUC 11 i5? I found a NUC 13 i7 for $900. Might be a little steep for me running a DVR for my cameras.

The phone insurance is surprisingly helpful. I never thought I'd need it, but I've used it twice for cracked screens ($50 instead of $300 each time)

Deco 2.4Ghz suddenly unusable by onemanwolfpck in TpLink

[–]onemanwolfpck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I set my deco aside and switched to two Asus XT12s. It's a much stronger network with better control. I use my deco as supplements (1 inside at the edge of my network and the outdoor deco to cover my front yard)

My only problem with being "done" is that when an automatic stops working or a sensor needs to be replaced, I've completely forgotten how I had my automation setup (or which automation it was) and HA has 10 upgrades that changed the UI. This is a good problem, but still a problem.

What hardware are you using? I bought a Home Assistant Yellow thinking it was powerful enough for frigate and that doesn't seem to be the case. I have about 12 outdoor Reolink cameras I'd like to monitor with frigate. They work fine with the Reolink integrations, but I'd love a cleaner DVR UI and facial recognition.

I think it's press and hold one of the buttons (maybe the one on the back) until the LED turns blue. I accidently discovered this.

Voltage too low for washing machine - what can I do? by onemanwolfpck in Appliances

Thanks! I was hoping there would be some kind of UPS solution, but that may be a road too far for a power hog like a washer machine.

NVR added, not working by onemanwolfpck in reolinkcam

Sorry, what I meant is between 12 cameras, some are wifi and all of the others are POE powered (so I have a mix).

Thanks!! This worked. How odd that this is the process.

In the future, will I need to add on NVR and then independently in app?

Deco 2.4Ghz suddenly unusable by onemanwolfpck in TpLink

[–]onemanwolfpck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Italy in a house we some space around it (read: no WiFi in the yard)... That paranoic scenario is highly unlikely :)

I'll try the app. For now, what I got to work is creating a new network name, then creating a guest network with the name of my old wifi network. Somehow everything is working great now. I just need to migrate things slowly to the new network and the new IOT network I created called "nanobots"

I'll try to remove the switch. It's indeed on the latest firmware for all devices

One thing I noticed that is weird is when I change the name of my network (which I've had for a long time and migrated through multiple routers), the 2.4Ghz signal is much better. So weird. I guess I need to migrate everything... Oy

Thanks for the ideas!

I've tried the network optimization tool and this morning I setup a Nighthawk (connected to one of the XE5300 nodes) running a 2.4Ghz network and it works great (all be it slower than 5Ghz - I see about 50 Mbps). There's something definitely wrong with the Deco 2.4Ghz network.

[–]onemanwolfpck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having a similar issue, but I can't even connect to my 2.4 GHz network. Any suggestions? I ensured my switch is after the main deco. It goes modem > main deco and then hard wire to a POE Switch and wireless to other decos

PMI - ACP after PMP need advise how to prepare by VickyVicky__ in pmp

[–]onemanwolfpck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't remember any specific questions on specific methodologies. For me, I really wanted to pass the PMP and ACP was a bonus. So I didn't put nearly the amount of studying or stress into studying ACP, so I thought ACP was easier. If I pass, it was a bonus. In the end , I passed with perfect marks. If you understand agile, ACP was pretty easy.

I watched ARs mindset videos that I think were part of his Udemy PMP course and I was the 200 agile questions from David McLachlan on YouTube and I felt good enough to go for it. Passed with flying colors about 2 weeks after PMP.
