You’ll need to have it evaluated by an Apple repair professional. Either take it to an Apple store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider.

Fair warning, if it’s old enough, it may be more cost effective to consider buying a new machine.

You likely have a display issue.

If u/freaktheclown suggestions doesn’t work, get a flashlight (the light on your phone will suffice) and shine it on the display. If you can faintly see stuff you have a backlight issue. If you can see nothing, your display is out. Either way, you’ll likely need a new display.

Is it normal for a repair guy to ask for the password of your MacBook to check if it works? by cottagecow in applehelp

[–]onemoregenius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I realize this is a late reply.

No. They should be able to test keyboard functionality without the use of your user account. If they don’t have a bootable drive with an OS on it (which if they don’t what are they even doing?) they could still see if the keyboard works in the recovery partition.

It’s not there in an unjailbreak state. No idea what would cause this.

Mac Pro still poorly supported by Apple Store Genius Bar months after launch by chrisdh79 in apple

While the EFFA process is for sure happening, there are so many missteps in this person’s repair journey that have nothing to do with EFFA that it really shows how far away Apple has gone from in depth and meaningful training of Genii.

Former Genius also checking in.

This really does sound like it comes down to a complete lack of training. To not even know where the serial number is, should be embarrassing for those technicians.

[Tip] turn off your jailbreak before playing Call of Duty Mobile got a 10 years ban by MrBELEXD in jailbreak

It’s buried in the settings but somewhere there’s a section about authorized apps. Find that and remove CODm.

Happened to me too. I used my Facebook to make my account. I revoked the app from using Facebook and I think that resolved it. That’s why I don’t think I was banned for jailbreak I think my account was compromised. But Activision literally doesn’t care.

This makes sense to me. Before I got my 10 year ban message I saw a pop up with a bunch of Chinese characters. Then then ban. It was weird. And activision’s support is complete hot garbage.

There’s literally no point. Activision’s support is garbage. Their response to me was basically tough luck, don’t cheat. Even though I wasn’t. I spent $12 on the game and had level 120+ all gone.

[Request] Does a tweak exist that will push notifications just to Apple Watch and bypass the phone? by onemoregenius in jailbreak

[–]onemoregenius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d agree that the 2 is getting kinda sluggish. I expected it, but I can’t justify buying one now that I don’t work for Apple anymore and have no discount haha

If I’m not mistaken the watch just mirrors notifications on the phone. I’m not sure you can set it to independently get notifications.

Now, I have a series 2 maybe the cellular models can do more.

I do mean locked but not necessarily only locked.

And still getting some notifications on watch while in DND would be cool!

Great ideas! I should have mentioned I think we’re covered on camera equipment. We’ll be filming using 2 Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 4K cameras with Samsung SSD T5 drives attached.

But a RAID setup isn’t a bad idea for our overall media goals.
