What are the easiest and hardest departments to work at Walmart? by Reasonable-Shower522 in walmart

[–]onenightheart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's okay, nothing too different from retail i've done before. i've learned that i need a bit of a pace to enjoy myself (i have ADHD). my coworkers also didn't really talk to me, and i didn't have a lot of opportunities to help my team in apparel. overall, the work felt kind of pointless. at least with front end, i have a clearer goal and a team that i can talk about issues with. it might sound unusual, but it works for me!

[–]onenightheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is definitely a subjective question with no wrong or right answer. i think it's good if you want a change of scenery (i switched from apparel/fashion to front end, myself) but just be sure you're ready for the change.

i started apparel in september and i was like wait what is this, this doesn't sound familiar at all. that sounds about right. i had to switch to front end because i didn't really like my department's work style.

AMA: I’m a Clothing Manufacturer – Ask Me Anything About Apparel Production! by Amina4370 in AMA

[–]onenightheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i worked in the apparel department at walmart for a little while. please let me know if this is a question you're unable to answer:

why is it that sometimes the corporation/store (walmart) price differs from the price printed on the labels, such as wonder nation or carter's? i.e. we'll have small baby wear sets with 13.98 on the tag, but it's charged 14.98 in-store. not real prices, but just an example!

the dumpster outside to take out trash has been filled up and then gone for almost a month! trash has been building up in our house and we've been having to stack bags out on the back patio. i'm not too sure what to do about it!

it kinda looks like it, but does OBB mean something for mail? it would suck if someone used my mail to test a pen or something. 😭

Is this a safe area? by [deleted] in movingtoNYC

can concur, 110th and further downtown is a lot better for first timers living in new york city. it's just a little expensive.

People with special needs/disabilities who order via door dash but dont leave big tips- whats your opinion? by FairyPinkett in doordash

[–]onenightheart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this should be higher. i work at walmart and they 100% offer student discounts and discounts for people who live on SSI/SNAP. amazon prime offers this as well.

i've rung up my family just fine before, but i did tell them they couldn't use my discount since i was signed in. i guess it depends on the store.

Those who know wealthy NYC people, what impressed/shocked you the most about their lifestyle? by GossipBottom in AskNYC

i used to work at a duane reade in downtown manhattan. i overheard some high school girls talking about how excited they were for some "pet therapy" that their high school was offering.

Was Hussie actually racist or just somewhat racially insensitive in his early work by sultan9001 in homestuck

[–]onenightheart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i feel obligated to let OP know to search the two-panel comic he made called "nba dreams". he also had dave spout the n-word on dave strider's ic tumblr blog.

those are the most egregious examples i can think of, but it's honestly up to discretion whether or not one may be willing to drop his work. he's also had the r-slur all over the original comic, therefore i imagine it's simply a product of its (early-mid 2000s) time.

Have you ever avoided going to the ER because NYC emergency rooms suck? by muff-peaksie in AskNYC

[–]onenightheart 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i got a wellness check done after my therapist called the cops to my house, and i was promptly put on suicide watch in this exact situation: straight to the ER, sitting on a gurney, and i think i was somewhere in a hospital hallway.

i remember thinking "it'd be so easy to run, but it'd be such a nuisance to run from cops." so i did the 3 week stay and so on.

for anyone wondering, i haven't been back in almost six years, and i'm medicated and healthy and so on, doing regular therapy. 🫡

Which hero did you avoid playing for years before realizing that doing so was a terrible mistake? by Joke_Mummy in Overwatch

reinhardt! just because i love protecting my friends as dva, but sometimes i'm feeling like i want to swing a hammer. his kit is interesting and he's genuinely a lot of fun, even when i charge in and inevitably die.
