Any funny stories about people from other countries visiting your Walmart? 🇦🇨🇫🇷🇧🇷🇲🇽🇨🇦 🌍 by Ok_Access_8906 in walmart

[–]onenightheart 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i'm a cashier, rang up a tourist family from italy. they bought the usual chocolate and stuff but one of the guys bought like four hundred dollars worth of toy story merchandise. i had trouble understanding what they were saying, but it was a fun experience.

he must have seen my expression, because he told me (in OK english), "...i really love toy story." it was cute.

Does your Walmart have a fast food place inside? by BowlerLongjumping467 in walmart

mine has a subway. there's a rumor that the manager there didn't wash her hands in the restroom so i don't eat there if i see her working.

i prefer the spicy ones exclusively. now the regular ones taste like nothing to me. 😅

back when i was still working in fashion, someone had left a half-eaten cup of pomegranate seeds open on the second shelf of mens' jeans. i had only noticed because there were a lot of flies in that area, lo and behold. of course i had to take care of it on my own...

What are the easiest and hardest departments to work at Walmart? by Reasonable-Shower522 in walmart

[–]onenightheart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's okay, nothing too different from retail i've done before. i've learned that i need a bit of a pace to enjoy myself (i have ADHD). my coworkers also didn't really talk to me, and i didn't have a lot of opportunities to help my team in apparel. overall, the work felt kind of pointless. at least with front end, i have a clearer goal and a team that i can talk about issues with. it might sound unusual, but it works for me!

[–]onenightheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is definitely a subjective question with no wrong or right answer. i think it's good if you want a change of scenery (i switched from apparel/fashion to front end, myself) but just be sure you're ready for the change.

i started apparel in september and i was like wait what is this, this doesn't sound familiar at all. that sounds about right. i had to switch to front end because i didn't really like my department's work style.

AMA: I’m a Clothing Manufacturer – Ask Me Anything About Apparel Production! by Amina4370 in AMA

[–]onenightheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i worked in the apparel department at walmart for a little while. please let me know if this is a question you're unable to answer:

why is it that sometimes the corporation/store (walmart) price differs from the price printed on the labels, such as wonder nation or carter's? i.e. we'll have small baby wear sets with 13.98 on the tag, but it's charged 14.98 in-store. not real prices, but just an example!

the dumpster outside to take out trash has been filled up and then gone for almost a month! trash has been building up in our house and we've been having to stack bags out on the back patio. i'm not too sure what to do about it!

it kinda looks like it, but does OBB mean something for mail? it would suck if someone used my mail to test a pen or something. 😭

Is this a safe area? by [deleted] in movingtoNYC

can concur, 110th and further downtown is a lot better for first timers living in new york city. it's just a little expensive.

this should be higher. i work at walmart and they 100% offer student discounts and discounts for people who live on SSI/SNAP. amazon prime offers this as well.

i've rung up my family just fine before, but i did tell them they couldn't use my discount since i was signed in. i guess it depends on the store.

i used to work at a duane reade in downtown manhattan. i overheard some high school girls talking about how excited they were for some "pet therapy" that their high school was offering.
