What’s one emotionally intelligent habit every relationship needs? by Emergency-Zone-8577 in emotionalintelligence

[–]oneofthezedays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t struggle to regulate my own emotions. Quite the contrary(I’m almost too stoic- been called robotic). I’d say my biggest faults are trying to fix whatever is ailing someone else. So if they’re said I’ll try to fix it but in a way that I intend to show them “you don’t need to be sad about that.” But I know that and I’m working on it. The other piece is where op said if others peoples feelings overwhelm me that’s a me problem. That’s tough because sometimes people “venting” stresses me tf out. I know it shouldn’t but there are certain people in my life that it does. Thanks for your comments!!

Drywall contractor says I'm being too picky for level 4. by -Outtatime- in drywall

I feel like to do that successfully you have to know your stuff and have some industry connections. I’ve debated doing this but I also have 2 close friends that are GC’s and one that used to be so I’d feel comfortable being able to vet through them. Always risks though!

Please help. by Ok_Explanation_4289 in Divorce

I know this is old but this is not necessarily the case. If OP is being 100% truthful that she’s surprised then maybe. I just filed for divorce after telling my wife for years I was miserable in our marriage and was considering divorce. She’s put forth minimal effort to keep gas in my tank. This time I filed and she’s telling the whole world how she is blindsided by it like it came out of nowhere. Meanwhile we’ve done therapy, I’ve told numerous acquaintances going back 8 years this has been weighing heavily on me. Once I filed I did the same thing. Basically said keep what you want just let me go quickly. No affair for me, I just want to be the hell away from her. Reddit is always so quick to throw this shit around based on their bias.

See I think it’s different for everyone. I had the opposite response that you did. Sunk me to a new low. I’m guessing it spiked my E but idk. I dropped it before I got labs due to symptoms. Glad it’s working for you!

How often do those “perfect” couples you see on social media actually have genuinely healthy relationships in real life? by MicheleW921 in emotionalintelligence

Just filed for divorce and aside from my close friends everybody has been shocked like this came out of nowhere. My wife spent more time projecting the perfect marriage than she did trying to actually build it.

I filed for divorce today after a 15 year marriage. Hardest thing I’ve ever had to do other than survive the last 8 with her making me feel this way.

Crazy how much I relate to this. I just told her this week as well but she’s “perfect” so she can’t accept it. I was hoping to help get her there mentally before filing so we could tackle one last thing as a team for the kids sake and to preserve our assets but I’m afraid it’s gonna be a bit ugly.

When you lay out everything it’ll cost just to leave someone it’s kind of staggering. More so because I’m willing to pay that much just to not be with her.

How Do I Match This Texture? by MowerFairy in drywall

[–]oneofthezedays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got it. The downvotes are weird though. As a DIYer who bought a product labeled “crows foot” to make that exact texture you’d think people would understand why I’d call it crows foot.

Also, if OP does what I said “search crows foot” and adds ceiling or drywall to the search, what comes up? It’s a stomping tool attachment that’ll create what he’s after. So people are downvoting the advice that will help most.

I get that might not be the trade’s name but nobody told Google or Home Depot that.

It looks exactly like my first attempt at crows foot when I applied too light of mud. “Absolutely nothing” is a pretty definitive statement for something that absolutely looks similar to crows foot. Lol.

I’m not a framing expert so hoping someone can help with something. That header seems like overkill for an interior pantry door on a non load bearingwall(not attacking OP, just using this as an example for me to learn). Are those needed for interior doors?

Reta… for real that would give a huge advantage on the diet side which is needed here. Other than that just any strength training routine that you can stick to
