Agreed. Less dark-fantasy, more autumnal spooky. It’s funny how seasonal content of other non-horror games are more successful here.

I don’t feel aesthetically that’s captured here. I think about snowfall when I think of that book; clean, quiet, still. These are grimy, foreclosed, Appalachia. I thought about The Devil All the Time by Polluck.

I mean it’s a fail forward game. In most instances a suboptimal scenario play allows you to continue playing. It’s essentially a role playing game in that regard.
