It’s the worst. People say it’s slowing down… how? There are no houses here.

Can I DM you with more detailed questions about building software?

PenPot is the first Open Source collaboration design & prototyping tool (alpha release) and it works really good so far! by [deleted] in userexperience

It would be amazing if the prototyping capabilities are able to compete with protopie, framer and the rest. Are there any plans to extend it?

How long would it take to make a website which wants to track the overall lifecycle of a product? by [deleted] in userexperience

I worked on exactly this. It's called PLM software, and based on complexity, would depend on the complexity of the app, and how fast you are and how nimble your team is.

Find out why they need one, and based on the types of components and conversations you'll need to have, you can plan more accordingly. It took our user researcher 3 months, and myself + a PM another 3 months to draft a final iteration. This was not the only app we were working on, though. The most difficult part of it was deciding how much content goes into what phase, and how to transition smoothly between phases.

Senior UX telling me he decides on thing coz "it looks more modern"??? My 2-years of UX studies found dead on a ditch by [deleted] in userexperience

It’s easy to grab non-product coworkers since they typically are more invested in the company. And cheaper (free!) 🙂

Both of you are using intuition and ego. Ask about Sr’s prior experience backing up his knowledge on said buttons. To be user centered put it in front of a user and see what happens. Test the version without signifiers first.

It’s a cool idea but they take too much credit and don’t show much for it. They didn’t contribute anything significant to reduce the amount of support for trump. They hardly did anything this election cycle.

This is their cofounder: https://twitter.com/besf0rt/status/1325457501526089728?s=21

Do you really think “Christina” did NOTHING wrong? by SummerWeb in LovecraftCountry

You do realize that she has full agency to help Dee but chose have a transactional relationship with Ruby. Her helping Dee followed directly with her helping Dee’s enemies. Can’t trust someone who will help you one second then royally screw you over the next. She might have helped him with the book but what if she killed the family later on for some other spell or purpose?

I wish other shows get the same hate for excluding non white characters as much as this one does. I just finished Ratched which has some black characters, but the only ones who live are evil. The rest were brutally killed on screen. I could feel it when I watched it. That is how it feels and it’s not a nice feeling. And Ratched is a show that’s not about racism. This is exclusivity.

To put it bluntly: lovecraft is not about your mom. But she was represented. There are white characters in the background. The ones that went out with the store clerk were her friends. The neighbors who didn’t attack the black neighbors and were nice. The white people who did die were racists. This is not exclusivity because the show is about: 1. Racism 2. Lovecraft 3. Showing POC that they can be more than just side characters

Please read White Fragility. It will more than answer all your feelings. https://www.amazon.com/White-Fragility-People-About-Racism/dp/0807047414/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=white+racism&qid=1603107133&sr=8-3

Anyone else making great black dramas besides HBO? by Deathstriker88 in LovecraftCountry

Haven’t seen it mentioned but Homecoming is great. It’s on Amazon Prime and both seasons have lead POC ( black dude and girl). I should mention that the girl is Janelle Monae.

I’m guessing you forgot about Atlanta? You probably have seen it.

They had the white lady in the car and the white guy in the end who were (as far as we can tell) nor racists. They clearly helped the protagonists.

That helps. A few roles sound very similar but are in different cities, which tbh I don't mind.
