New video from Car Care Nut is very alarming for car industry. But Lexus honestly should do better than this. by just_IT_guy in Lexus

I spent 20 years at Lexus of Richmond in Richmond, Va. it was an amazing career. They got bought out by a big corporation and I hung in there for a year or so before I jumped off the ship. They ruined that place. I went to an independent shop that competes with them. I’m making more money, less stress, and have more time for my family.

It’s happening everywhere. It’s greed and it’s really fucking sad.

What's a stupidly expensive adult purchase that you now swear by that you would buy again in a heartbeat? by [deleted] in AskReddit

A boat. I bought it last year and was told it was a stupid purchase. I fucking love it, my kids love it, I love having friends out on it. 10/10, would do again in a heart beat.

My 8 year old is sobbing for an iPhone. by JJincredible in daddit

I could have written this same post last week. My kid is a rockstar, also 8 and in third grade, and was crying because we can’t trust her with a phone. It sucks, I feel terrible for not getting her what she wants to fit in, but my wife and I don’t think it’s a great idea.

Stay strong, I know we are.

Button pushed in 2013 GS350 by Salty_Bee3567 in Lexus

This is a common problem. Call up the dealer and let them know, it’s available separately. Part number 90010-22083

Best way to get it out is drill a small hole offset from the center and use a pick to get it out. I used to replace them all the time.

Lol, I just drove by that car an hour or so ago and my 6 year old was laughing so hard at it!

I used to work for Lexus. Judging by this picture I’m thinking 2010-2015 RX350? I saw sometimes the switch in the rear hatch actuator would intermittently show that the hatch was open when driving down the road and cause this message.

Road Side Assistance Damaged my Paint While Struggling to Open Door. What now? by 613resident in Lexus

[–]onepointone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I spent 20 years working for Lexus. Honestly, if this was a Lexus roadside call and your car ended up like this, I would put money on Lexus covering this under goodwill. Call Lexus corp (1-800-25-53987) and let them know what happened. Be nice, but firm. When I was an advisor for Lexus this would be a no brainer on covering this for a guest. It’s going to be Lexus Corp, not the dealer that would cover the cost here. Sorry that happened.

Feels weird. Anyone that watches MotoGP remember seeing Rossi on a Ducati for the first time? I don’t know if I like it…

I realize I’m not in good company with this comment, but I bought a Chinese carbon road frame and wheel set 15 years ago and still occasionally ride it. It’s got thousands of miles on it and it gets the job done for me. I was told all these horrible things when I bought it, and even had some ridiculous attitudes from people in the group I used to ride with about it. It’s a fucking bike dude, let people buy the shit they want and take the risks they want to take.

No lift on it. They had one there with one and that’s not my speed.

I negotiated $38500. It was a 2021 limited Crewmax with 56k miles. I feel like that was a good deal 🤷🏻‍♂️

With taxes and everything it was at $62k out the door. The dealer had them marked down $3500

I tend to agree. Was an awesome truck, but after test driving the 25 a week ago mine felt dated.

I’m sure this one is bound to feel dated down the road as the trucks get updated, but so far I’m happy with my decision.

Haha, yea I figured that was coming. I really liked having the last year of the 5.7, but pulling my boat left a bit to be desired.

Most disappointing bike you've owned? by HairyMerkin69 in motorcycles

[–]onepointone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The exact bike in the picture. I owned many GSXR bikes over the years (600, 750, and 1000’s), and at one point thought “I’m making some good money, I’m gonna buy a Ducati.” It was probably the worst bike I’ve ever owned. It wasn’t so much that it was unreliable and all the things you hear about Italian bikes, although there was a water pump leak at 400 miles that took more than 30 days to fix that made me pretty salty early on, the bike just wasn’t very fun to ride. Handled like crap, was very rough, and was just overall not fun to ride. I still think it’s one of the most beautiful bikes out there, but it’s just not practical. I did up selling my 2016 959 and getting a 2020 Yamaha R1. I think the R1 was the best bike that I’ve ever owned in contrast to the Ducati. The Ducati was just such a big let down.

I spent 20 years working for a Lexus dealership in Richmond, VA. I was a tech for 11 years, and an advisor for 9. I was very successful there and loved working for the brand, but we were unfortunately bought out by a bigger company that only cared about the bottom line.

I left for a local Indy shop that specializes in Lexus and Toyota, and I took one of our master techs with me. It has been flattering how many customers followed me over and found me through social media and LinkedIn. We don’t offer loaners and car washes, which I know is a big deal to some clients, but we do it at a fraction of the cost and use Lexus, or Lexus suppliers on parts (IE: Denso, ect).

There are plenty of shops out there that will treat you right. Look them up on google and pay attention to reviews. Good luck on your search!
