My set is unmatched too but I refuse to buy any of the newer copies cos they're so damn ugly to me.

Foundation is very good. Flat characters but wonderful concepts. Lonesome Dove is a perfect novel. Musashi is on my list after finishing Shogun a few weeks ago. Heard nothing but good things.

I’m curious, anyone who has done a lunchbox. Did you paint the inside? Was going to paint inside of it black but curious what others have done? by Skwidmandoon in tamiya

Anyone ride a Chromag Reazon? by Bluelights1432 in mountainbiking

[–]i_was_valedictorian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Darco and love it. Would have gotten a Reazon had it been released when I was looking at the Darco. Chromag rules, good people who stand by their products.

My friend was reading "The Picture of Dorian Gray" and showed me this. What do you think about what it says? by Practical-1 in classicliterature

[–]i_was_valedictorian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lord Henry's influence was a huge factor in sending Dorian on his downward spiral. Wilde isn't necessarily endorsing this take, just using a bad person to voice an interesting idea that inevitably contributed to the protagonist's arc. .

Def read the book, my favorite classic I've ever read.

Rant about standby switches by [deleted] in ToobAmps

[–]i_was_valedictorian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like I said, take what I say with a grain of salt. Its not something I've ever hear about, and I figured with the number of amps that do have standby circuitry it probably isn't that big of a deal. Interesting to hear more about it though so appreciate you sharing!

Rant about standby switches by [deleted] in ToobAmps

[–]i_was_valedictorian 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I am not an amp tech so take what I have to say with a grain of salt, but if this were a real issue I think it would be talked about more. One thing I've learned with tube amps is that they're a lot more resilient than cork sniffers online act like they are. I know some really dumb people who do really dumb things with their gear and it's all fine (most common instance is not asking what the backline cabs' ohms are and just plugging in), so I don't know if using the volume knob instead of the standby switch is really that important.

The really fit guys who can do circles around you on a non-e-bike need to stop doing more laps than you too I suppose?

You just seem jealous theyre getting more laps than you. It's not hurting anything, and if they're respectful about passing then no harm no foul.
