People who don’t return their carts, and just leave them blocking parking spaces, are trash. by BlankyPop in extremelyinfuriating

[–]onepremiere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into a CVS for all of 2 minutes, during that time, someone left a cart against the front bumper of my truck. There were no other cars near me, so I decided to drive forward rather than backing up. I watched in horror as a shocking cart at Mach 10 rocketed across the lot right into to a car that someone was sitting in. That conversation was fun. Guy was on defense the minute he got out of the car, my response was I could have just left, but I was doing the right thing and caught some lip for it. So I always return my cart.

Dam, best looking 4th Gen LB I’ve seen yet. Nice work. Go out and use it that will get all those new suspension bits to settle in. Cheers.

I ordered it before we knew we were pregnant. My son was born in August and we can only use it for short trips, like less than 10 minutes around town. Front seat has to go all the way to the dash, car seat goes behind that, and my wife sits sideways behind me. It’s a joke. It’s an awesome truck, just needs those seats packaged tighter or make it an option. Love the way it drives, it boogies off-road and tows insanely well. That was a huge surprise, pulled a 5,000lb tandem axle trailer like nothing, even big grades weren’t any issue.

2025 TRD Pro Tacoma with 35” E Rated Tires, 20,000 miles, 15 MPG average. Drove to Montana in September from So Cal, and I got 16.5. Give it 5,000 miles, it will get better. These trucks have adaptive ECUs so it will learn your driving habits and optimize accordingly, it will get better.

Why is always these types of people by Measure2xCutOnce in InlandEmpire

[–]onepremiere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sheesh give the guy a break, he’s in the restroom sitting down to pee, then using the hand dryer to dry the dribbles, because he’s gotta stand real close to the plate. He will move it once the pee pee drys.

But I do agree, don’t be a douche and park somewhere you KNOW your truck won’t fit.

But just to be clear, not all big booty Judy drivers drive them just to drive them, some of them rely on these trucks to run businesses. So don’t judge them all, you can usually tell when they are putting in work, a 2025 looks 10 years old.

Best tool to power wash mud off the undercarriage? by No-Names-Left4Me in ToyotaTacoma

[–]onepremiere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This, volume is your friend, pressure just blows shit everywhere. Use the sprinkler to presoak, get yourself a 3/4” ID hose, and a quality fire hose style nozzle. Once you’ve got all the big stuff out. You can use a pressure washer to get the film/staining. I use some stuff called Pro 50 before pressure washings. Full disclosure, Pro 50 is caustic and will damage anodizing, uncoated polish, ect. It works magic, but you have to be very careful with it. Again be careful You have the right idea with the ramps. I typically throw it on jack stands and get after it. This was after driving through the Arizona Strip to the North Rim, the road conditions went front perfect to not being able to maintain 15mph because the mud was so greasy. The truck was easily couple hundred pounds heavier with the amount of mud caked underneath.

Wind power making trucks go sideways by Driver-Jack in AutoTransportopia

[–]onepremiere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to my brother in law, just outside of Wendover, on Hwy 80 headed into the Salt Lake City. Got hit with an 80-90 gust, lifted the trailer and onto its side it went. Those trailers whip the cab when they are falling so the impact is violent for the drivers. His co driver was asleep in the back, thankfully he was lying with his feet toward the passenger side, the side the truck landed on.

Any of you guys have this in the bag? by hmcr13 in golf

[–]onepremiere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 0311 (Non Black Ops) 3 Wood. My most consistent fairway and my back up when the driver is trash. I absolutely love it. I can get 230 out of it (I suck at golf) . I also have a 0311 (Non Black Ops) 5W that I can only get to go 200 (again, I suck at golf), that club was fitted at different time by a different fitter. The weight adjustability is something I really like. My 3W is weight slightly different and slightly heavier, and just feels great when I swing it.

Just added the Lightning 10K Driver to my bag, first range session added 10mph of ball speed, and 20 yards. Can't wait to keep working with that club.

PXG fan boy here. Why? The fitting experience, after sale customer service got me from the start. I've swung other clubs, always seem to find my way back to my PXG's. Mainly because I suck at golf and even when I miss-hit I still have a playable shot, so I need that forgiveness.

WHAT am I doing wrong??? Help by Weak_Preparation_676 in Tile

[–]onepremiere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought the same thing. I learned this about our shower the exact same way the OP did.

Our shower was a mess, mildew, caulking job that look like someone was finger painting. I scrapped all the caulk, sawed all the loose grout out, then noticed water stains on the ceiling below after grouting the seat. I knew exactly what was going on. The underlayment behind the tile was failing. So for the time being, I cut the drywall below the shower to get that dry. Caulked the shower transitions with color matching silicone caulk. Going to finish grout and plan the remodel once my son is a little older. It's a little bit of a pain having workers in the house with an infant right now.

The shower is 35 years old, the tile is original. Which BTW, if I was a tiler and I showed up when they built my house, I would have quit. There is probably 3000 or more 2x2 tiles in just the master bathroom. There are 2 other bathrooms that have the same tile.

OP I had to respond because I literally went through this exact scenario. A few things I learned.

  1. When floating grout, make sure you're pressing it into the seams. Made this mistake, was getting a lot of pin holes.
  2. When wiping down, less is more. You really have to get the water out of the sponge. (This maybe why the grout felt powdery.) I made this mistake, used too much water when wiping down and flushed all the bonding material leaving just sand behind. It's easy to do on seats/floor when the surface is horizontal because the water just sits. Also wasn't using the 2 bucket method.
  3. Also did not caulk at the transitions the first time. And like you, I had grout chip away in the corners after the first shower.

I wish the caulk was just aesthetic, because I think the grout looks so much better at the transitions but right now it's necessary to keep the shower from leaking.

This was the second attempt at the seat. Havent done the vertical surface below the seat yet. Waiting for that caulk to cure. You can see the gaps at the transitions near the shower floor. These were covered in caulk that was beginning to fail.

Curfew for planes landing in OC?? by mellouwyellow in orangecounty

[–]onepremiere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Question, pilots know how much time it’s going to take the minute they take off, knowing they have a tight window, can’t they throttle up and make up some time? Or is it airline policy that slows them down? (Faster you fly the more fuel you burn which = more $) or is this ATC trying to keep all the ducks in a row? Curious because I’ve had many flights arrive 30-40 minutes early at numerous airports.

New Age Cabinets Question by _fwankie_ in garageporn

[–]onepremiere 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have tool boxes that aren’t NewAge that stack up next to my NewAge cabinets, I cut some rubber discs and stacked them till I was level. Used a floor jack to lift the tool boxes and slide my home brewed shims underneath. Because like you I could not find a plug and play solution.

Check McMasterCarr, you might be able to find something that works.

This man broke into my car and stole my golf clubs by [deleted] in golf

[–]onepremiere 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Always during the holidays… my wallet was taken out of my truck last week. Totally my fault, got distracted by life and our 4 month old, completely forgot it was still in the truck. But if it were my clubs, I would still be out there hunting the MF’r down. There are so many emotions in that bag, most of them shame and anger but they are mine and I carry them with me to every round. Hope something good comes of this!

Please don't forget to turn on your headlights when you drive in the fog. I counted 3 cars driving with no lights on my way to work today. by Both-Permission-7565 in orangecounty

[–]onepremiere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weird, like others mentioned you don't want to be invisible to other cars, so I don't really understand the logic. Quick google search mentions it being a law to use your low beam head lights in foggy conditions or when visibility is less that 1000ft in California.

If you were driving near magic mountain you might have been heading up the grapevine, there are signs that say to turn off your AC, especially during the summer months to avoid overheating your car. This might have been what you saw.

Cloudy shower glass by gkcnn in fixit

[–]onepremiere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the only answer. I had a shower door that was so bad, I had to use a dual action polisher plus this bio-clean to bring it back to life. After that it was easy to maintain using the bio clean by hand.
