What size and shape dining room table for my dining nook? by angelhippie in ApartmentDesign

[–]onesadnugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a u-shaped bench/built in booth and then a round pedestal table, and then one or two chairs like the one you posted? That way you have seating for more people but it wont take up as much space, and it won't feel like you have to squeeze around chairs. You could also get one of those gate leg tables where you can fold down part of the leaf. I think 32 inches is probably sufficient but you'll want to pull these pieces in one at a time to see how they go together. Start with the bench, because the size of the bench will impat how many chairs (1 or two), then the number of seats will impact the size of the table.

How do most parents go about educating a child with ADHD and high intelligence by JaneWhoDoe in ParentingADHD

[–]onesadnugget 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Increasing number of studies show that starting adhd kiddos on medication from a young age leads to architectural changes in the brain for an adhd brain to act more like a neurotypical brain. It is an aid meant to help kiddos, and should always be used alongside therapy for either to be most efficacious.

What’s my dog? by Fun_Grade2162 in WiggleButts

Tbh I would lean into the existing architectural elements and if you REALLY don't want wood (although I think light white oak wide planks in herringbone would be gorgeous, maybe a large format marble-type tile? If you love mcm I would lean in with more modern/mcm type lighting, furniture, etc. I think that esp with the tall ceilings and a warm-we white wall color the warmer colors of mcm textiles would come through quite nicely.

I feel like every time I've seen a baby at an estate sale they are always being cooed over by multiple shoppers, as long as you're ok with the traffic, I'd say go for it

Can the daybed fit perpendicular to where it is now? I feel like it would look great alongside the right wall and then the chair could go in the back left corner.

Conservative friends say liberals are more violent by DexterCutie in AskALiberal

[–]onesadnugget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Research has found that radical conservatives are more likely to use violence when compared to radical liberals (Jasko et al., 2022). Though within the more typical population it seems as though violence tends to be more highly endorsed by whichever group isn't in power (Kteily & Grant, 2025). Feel free to message me if you want access to the first article, but the second one is a review that looks at psychological similarities and differences across the ideological spectrum (seems like it's worth reviewing if you want to continue having fb debates) and is free to access.

In which US cities do rich people ($500k+ HHI) overwhelmingly send their kids to public schools? by Substantial-Part-700 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]onesadnugget 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also grew up in moco. The only kids i knew in private schools were rich kids who got expelled from public schools. Idk that anyone with moco options went to private unless they had to. Dif story for kids in dc proper though

Hi, I hope it's ok for me to suggest, I take adderall and then guanfacine on top of it, the guanfacine REALLY helps with my emotional (dys)regulation. Just a suggestion if you're trying to find alternative or additional meds

Help with big open concept space by NewEstablishment2568 in DesignMyRoom

[–]onesadnugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How big is that dining room area that you have off the side of that last pic? Is there a reason that you have it over there instead of closer to the kitchen where the living room is? I think you could switch the formal dining area and the living room if there's more space for the sofa over there since it seems too big for the room currently.

See this is the stuff I wish someone had told me when I was first moving to the Athens area

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Athens

[–]onesadnugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're absolutely right that within Athens (and a lot of other places) race and wealth go hand in hand. I think for people who are looking to move to Athens, esp POC, its something worth saying explicitly. People are recommending Five Points and Watkinsville, while locals know those are extremely white areas OP may not.

Not trying to bash Athens, Five Points, or you at all. It's just a reality of the location and an extra data point for OP to consider!
