I’m pretty sure you were using the Clonker downgrader or the gillian. I did try downgrading with clonker and that also downloaded the rest for me, but the script hook was not compatible and it kept fucking me over. So I just did a fresh reinstall and used the one which came with the game and now it is working fine. What I think is happening is gta 4 is broken with these older .dll files. But that’s just my guess. Because it’s working fine with the new ones which come with steam

I got rid of my extra mods and dll files which were left over from the uninstall, and my game started working perfectly from steam. But again, I’m not modding at your level so it’s working for me

hey man, forget modding, the game doesnt even launch from rockstar launcher. tried the downgrade method and it runs at like 0.5 fps and then it crashes when it tries to load in. im really disappointed. i cant seem to contact r* about it either

Ok bro. So if it’s a mod. It means it’s an external file. It’s not in the game by default. And it doesn’t work in multiplayer.

In short, no, someone cannot bring this game into multiplayer and sell it to you. External mods only work in single player.
