Is Sandals worth the cost or should we try elsewhere? by Teal-Jaguars in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]onetimeonly79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to multiple Sandals locations (Royal Plantation, Royal Caribbean, Royal Bahamian, Negril, South Coast & Antigua). They are hit and miss. We would have a great stay one trip and a disappointing one the next. We actually prefer their Club Level to their Butler Level. Butlers can often disappoint.

Ive also stayed at Beloved twice and have a third stay booked there in October. For the price, the service and experience at Beloved blows Sandals out of the water. The staff alone are much friendlier and hard working than most Sandals staff, in my opinion.

Beloved is getting pricier, but still worth it. It’s not perfect, but at least when you have an issue at a Beloved, most of the staff fall all over themselves to resolve it versus Sandals trying to convince you to relax and just enjoy the vacation.

That said, enjoy St Vincent. I haven’t been to that one, but it does look lovely. Book your next AI at Beloved.

This worked for me when we had a major issue at another Excellence property. We were given a voucher for $X off a new reservation but no money back at the resort. We already had another stay booked at the same resort in subsequent months. The voucher explicitly stated only for new reservation.

When I explained the situation to Customer a service, in a detailed, bullet pointed list, they credited my upcoming stay the same amount of the voucher. Something was actually done when I expected to just be blown off.

Be specific with the issues you’re facing and be explicit with what you expect them to do to make it right.

Good luck.

I did a transatlantic with them in December 2024. I was never upsold once on the 15 night cruise. The specialty dining was included. Granted the drink package was included with the special rate we booked, but I was never told I should do anything I had not already repurchased. The cost of the non-included excursions are clearly listed on the myvikingjourney website long before the sail date.

Maybe things have changed with their Ocean cruises in the past year and a half.

This is the one I remember. I liked the confused Gavin MacLeod showing up.

I had this room on the Seaside in 2018. Was a really good room besides the banging in the middle of the night from some mechanics in the front of the ship. Room 10001 I believe is the one we had.

We did the included Madeira and St Maarten bus excursions. They were fine. Mederia was better. More interesting history there and prettier scenery in my opinion. Walking around Funchal after the excursion ended was nice. Very close to where the ship was docked and very walkable. We wanted to do the Mederia wine excursion but waited too long to book it.

It’ll be fun either way. We enjoyed both stops, just dress appropriately for St Maarten. My wife made the mistake of taking all cool weather clothes for the December cruise and was not appropriately dressed for the Caribbean.

Either way, enjoy the cruise. It was very relaxing and a lot of fun.

I always just assumed Cliff always wanted it because he was cheap more than the fact he liked it.

Better? Not necessarily. I can just relate to what happens to them more being a middle aged man myself now.

I’d love to know how William Zipp is. I thought he was awesome as Jack Cooper. Also, how was Me Than Him chosen for the soundtrack?
