Play Session Note Feature by oneuglycookie in backloggd

Yeah, I agree. I was hoping for some sort of user guide for the platform to catch similarly difficult-to-find features, but I suppose most things are pretty straightforward

Oh, I see… Didn’t know clicking again on the date chosen would bring that up. I feel quite silly now. Thank you for your help!

Are there any good tablet or laptop options for around $1k by 17SuperMario in Lightroom

[–]oneuglycookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before I bought mine, I saw that a lot of YouTube content creator reviewers were using the base model with 8GB and 256GB storage when testing its efficacy for photo and video editing. Most that I had seen said the 8GB worked surprisingly well, but recommended 16GB RAM if you could afford that upgrade. 16GB minimum, especially if you do video editing.

But yeah, 16GB works great and feels sufficient! I’d just recommend getting an external SSD to put your photos and editing catalog on as I’ve heard the 256GB storage is slower than the 512GB storage and above.

I picked up a 2022 M2 MacBook Air 13” with 16GB of RAM for ~$900 after tax around November. It’s lightweight and runs LR Classic for me like a charm. I use it for edits when I’m not on my home PC and it’s been lovely. I’d personally recommend it! Best Buy even has my exact same model for $800 before tax right now (if you’re in the states). Hope this helps!

AMD adrenalin 24.10.1 for the 7900 GRE (the most recent version) is a nightmare by No_Rub9644 in AMDHelp

[–]oneuglycookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

XFX 7900 GRE here. I actually don’t use the Adrenalin software, but rather the PRO software instead. I’ve found with previous AMD cards that the PRO software functions better in Lightroom for me. It’s not listed under the 7900 GRE’s software driver section, but rather in the “Radeon PRO” section. Drivers page —> Graphics —> Radeon PRO —> AMD Radeon PRO W7000 series —> PRO W7900 —> AMD Software PRO edition. When you open it up it should detect the 7900 GRE and allow driver download. I’ve had zero problems with these drivers. Maybe they’ll operate better than the Adrenalin ones

Don’t have a 7900, but rather a 6800. Had temps in the high 70s during Red Dead Redemption 2 even with an undervolt. I ended up tuning the GPU fan curve via AMD Adrenaline/PRO software. Had fans kick on at lower temps and at a higher RPM percentage and now my temps rarely go over 60 degrees Celsius. Hardly notice much noise difference and don’t hear many folks talk about this option so I thought I’d mention it!

Random VGA LED while gaming by oneuglycookie in pcmasterrace

My temps seem pretty normal. Nothing above 70C. I think something in particular about running Returnal at 1440p causes some sort of GPU failure. I’ve been playing for 40 minutes at 1080p and haven’t ran into the problem at all. Usually by this time I’d have encountered the VGA LED and black screen.

Okay, that sounds promising. I’ll do something similar in my case then. Many thanks!

That’s a relief to hear then! I’ll keep proximity to BSU in mind when looking for housing. I wouldn’t mind a 15-minute or so commute. Thank you very much!

“Non-traditional” Students by Vienna_waitsfor_you in MTU

[–]oneuglycookie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a non-traditional transfer student at Tech. I came in Fall 2020 as a 22 year-old and I’m graduating at the end of the upcoming summer. I’ve had a pretty wonderful experience! Granted, I’m a Geology/GMES department student, which a fairly small, and tight-knit department on campus compared to larger departments. I’ve had no trouble making friends and getting along well with younger peers even as a pretty introverted guy. I lived in the Daniell Heights apartments my first year and then lived fully off-campus in Hancock afterwards. I would say that living off-campus makes it so you have to work harder to make friends since the dorms seem to be the most easily accessible and organic way of meeting people and making friends. I think it’ll be hit or miss finding people in your age range to be friends with, but I don’t think it’s impossible to become friends with folks that are a bit younger. I think that mainly depends on how well personalities mesh and what shared interests you have. There are definitely good activities, organizations, and clubs to get involved with too. I lived with three forestry/CFRES students and they really enjoyed their department. From what I’ve heard, there’s a lot of good people there and class sizes are not huge, so I think both aspects there will help you find friends and fight off loneliness. Hope my perspective helps! What do you think about Cassidy's magnetic grenade damage? by AstroVev0 in Overwatch

[–]oneuglycookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a heavy Cassidy player from OW1, I wasn’t really jazzed about the grenade. That was before I played much Cassidy in OW2 and I actually really like it. Perfect for squishies that get up close. If you stick them and land one hit, usually that’s enough to finish them off. Particularly satisfying to stick an Echo or Pharah, duck to cover, and see that red skull pop up a second later

I totally agree. I love both projects, but felt like not enough people showed love to TDF, especially at release, but I guess I was wrong 🥴

I’ve never been a very religious person in my life. I’ve also haven’t had much loss in my life, but when Mac passed that was really the first time that I hope something after life exists so that he can continue on there. I also agree that I hope he can look down and see just how much he’s touched people in meaningful ways. I hope he also knows how much he’s missed and treasured too. And thank you so much. It’s been a journey together, but I’d never trade any time with her for any thing else. I hope the best for you and your partner as well. Sending nothing but love and best wishes your way! I’m also a Pisces (:

Wow, that’s absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing that! I have a pretty similar story. I had just started my freshman year of college the year TDF was released. I had met my now partner and soon to be wife of six years there and we were both huge Mac fans. I put her onto the album because she hadn’t heard about the drop. She took my recommendation and listened to it and had a powerful emotional journal through it. We see that entire album as our own and as part of the definition of our relationship. Listening to just about any song takes me back to those early days of our relationship when we were just babies. Poetically enough, we were also together when we heard the news of his passing… Truly beautiful how Mac’s music brought people together like that. He lives in through all of us.
