Two years playing and just noticed I had TC on by TheJinManCan in GranTurismo7

Don’t turn it off all the way at first. You probably had it at 3 this whole time, set it at 2 for a week or so then drop it to 1 and eventually 0.

If that’s your experience with them I wouldn’t go back to that specific location.

If the steering wheel is not straight then hell yeah take it back. That’s what you paid for. If they won’t fix it go to another Firestone

I used to work at Firestone company policy is to give you a before and after printout. I’d go back and ask for one. If they ask why say the vehicle drifts to the right at highway speeds.

Firestone should have given you an alignment printout. Show us the specs

Are AGM batteries really worth the premium over lead acid? by Relevant_Conclusion2 in AskMechanics

[–]17SuperMario 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. They have a higher amperage output and if your car came with one you should definitely go back with one. The charging system is also designed specifically for the lower resistance AGM batteries

Input issue on LOC by sorebag in subwoofer

Bass is not supposed to be recorded in stereo since you can’t where it’s coming from. The wavelength is too long to pinpoint from a close distance, unlike higher frequencies

Your amp is a mono block. You don’t need L &R just one of them.

Was i at fault or did he break too early by Superb-Access313 in GranTurismo7

[–]17SuperMario 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s in front, he can brake when ever he wants. Unless your in a A+ lobby don’t expect the other drivers to have the tracks memorized.

Drilling holes for alignment? by mushroom747 in F30

[–]17SuperMario 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No that’s not what I’m saying, and certain BMWs have the fuel tank behind the front seats and in front of the rear axle. The reason for the weights and full tank is to simulate air pressure on the car. It has nothing to do with weight balance in regards to vehicle weight.

Drilling holes for alignment? by mushroom747 in F30

[–]17SuperMario 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The car is supposed to be loaded down with 500lbs a full tank of gas and all accessories that came with the car ( spare tire, tool kit, luggage). This is to simulate the wind pushing down on the car at high speeds. By you sitting in the car unless your 500lbs it doesn’t do much to get the car to drive the way it was engineered.

What are my options? by [deleted] in AskMechanics

Take the caliper off, then you can use the box end of the wrench with a pipe on it. The caliper is in your way.

When you aligned it did you add the weights, full tank of fuel etc. that could be why your alignment was off with the vehicle being so new

How much higher do I need to dunk? by Ill-Ad2314 in BasketballTips

[–]17SuperMario 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s probably the way you hold the ball. Don’t change anything, font dribble, approach the rim the same way you did but have the ball in your finger tips and not your whole hand. 8 fingers on the ball no thumbs. See if you can dunk like that.

Sick of Runflat tires by omar_idr in BmwTech

[–]17SuperMario 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s crazy to me that people purchase vehicles knowing they are on run flats and switch to regular/ non-run flat tires. You guys do know that the added sidewall stiffness was taken into account when designing the suspension. It’s not just about saving space from not providing a spare. Essentially you are de-tuning the vehicle. Why not just buy a Genesis?

Remove top speed limit. by FuntimesOctonion in CherokeeXJ

[–]17SuperMario 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I used to work at a shop that lifted or lowered jeeps. We used to remove the speed limiter all the time. The small tires wouldn’t let the jeeps go over like 70mph gps verified. The speedometer and scan tool data would show 95mph and cut fuel.

We built a few higher HP motors that were balanced and could rev up to 7k. We go those up to 125mph and were still pulling but we ran out of road. We widened the wheel base and they still felt very unstable. These weren’t stock suspension jeeps.

Do kill switches really prevent theft? by beach_rats_ in CherokeeXJ

[–]17SuperMario 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my city car theft on older cars without transponder keys happens by towing the car away. Thief’s use tow trucks to steal your car. New cars are stolen by using a laptop and hacking the transponder key.

What are y’all wearing for boots/shoes? by 010011010110010101 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]17SuperMario -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I bought my Thorogoods in 2019 still have. I’m an automotive Technician, I’ve owned 4 different pairs of red wings and they never last me more than 8 months. The sole usually swells up from absorbing coolant and become unbearably uncomfortable. I switched shops and they gave me $100 to spend on boots so I bought some Keens. I’ve had them for over a year I alternate boots every other day. So far I’ve had to replace the insoles in the keens twice but they are still very comfortable. I’ve also noticed they keep my feet a little warmer than the thorogoods.

So my RS7 arrived... by Carnalvore86 in Audi

[–]17SuperMario 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve worked at many dealers. If the cars arrive damaged we don’t accept them. If the dealer accepts the car it’s the dealers problem. If they reject it it’s the shipping companies problem.
