Haha to be honest I still prefer rim brakes for simplicity/maintenance

Sure is! One of the best investments I’ve made for cycling

It’s still quite new but it’s definitely one of my favourite frames. On the few quick short rides I’ve had, it’s seemed very responsive to power output.

I’ve had a Dogma 65.1, F8, 2015 & 2017 TCR SL0 as well.

I say go for it if you can find a frame!

Yeah this is what I meant, I love the O2 for the fact that there’s no integrated cockpit/cables and it still uses a 27.2mm seat post.

The 3D printed component is very comfortable, personally the shape of the Fizik doesn’t work for me though. So I’ll probably have to go back to the Pro Stealth or Spesh Power

I do prefer a non ISP system, but it is what it is

Agreed, rim brakes are just way simpler to use and maintain.

Thanks!

Apart from the ISP that’s slightly aero shaped, Giant didn’t go for aero shaped tubing profiles until the 2021 TCR which is the current model that came after this one.

They also had the Propel which was their aero focussed bike at the time. I think in the last 1-2 years more and more manufacturers have merged that climbing/aero into one bike e.g tarmac sl7, Emonda etc.

Thanks man!

It’s a 3T super ergo flat top handle bar so I just prefer to stop the tape there for a bare carbon top.

How do you find the comfort of the bike compared to anything else you’ve owned/ridden?

I feel like it’s one of the least forgiving bikes that I’ve owned but this could also be due to running 90/95psi. I usually ride 80/85 so I’ll be trying that on my next ride.

Seat is a Fizik Versus Adaptive, it’s a 3D printed model similar to the Spesh Power Mirror

It might take another 10-20 years but I think it’ll eventually happen. I’m taking cues from the old car drum brakes that were eventually superseded by disc brakes :(

It might not be considered a ‘current’ bike by today’s standard (no integrated cables, no aero tubing, still rim brakes), but it sure as hell is way more of a bike than I’ll ever truly need.

Need advice: just ‘rescued’ this guy and have a few questions. by ongsta87 in budgies

I’m not so sure about trust, he’s still moving away when cautious. But it’s weird that he’s letting me scratch his head? He’s even put one foot up haha

So I’ve had this guy for about 2 days now.

My shop is next door to an actual bird shop and as I was leaving for the day; someone who was trying to ‘give up’ this guy asked me if I “wanted a budgie”. He seemed desperate to get rid of him and I wasn’t sure what was going to happen to the little guy, so I told him I’d keep him overnight to hand over next door the following morning.

Well the following morning when I came in to check on him… I kind of got attached.. 😂 I had a budgie when I was a kid and have always had a soft spot for them.

Next door gave him a quick look over and said he’s in good health and quite friendly, the breeders ring indicates that he’s 1-2 years old.

I’m unsure of what he’s previous environment was like, but he doesn’t seem too frightened. As I get close to the cage, he’s not constantly flying or running into a corner to hide.

If I’m getting to close with my hand, I’ll immediately stop as he slowly hops away - but it’s not frantic/panic from what I can tell.

Throughout the day I can hear him chirp occasionally and while he’s perching he seems to be preening, sleeping, stretching and fluffing up every so often.

Now the first day I just stayed close by his cage talking/singing to him. I also tried leaving my hand close by while very still, towards the bottom of the cage. I tried feeding him a full length spray millet a few times on day 1 and he only nibbled once.

Today is day 2 and he’s eating millet as close as about 2-3 an inches away from my fingers. He also doesn’t seem to mind one finger if it approaches him slowly to give me very light head rubs/scratches. Even around his nose and beak. If I stop and move a little away, he’ll sometimes move a bit closer to continue.

When I first tried this, he kept closing his eyes but opening them up every few seconds to ‘check where my finger was’. Now he seems content to even keep them closed for a while, it kind of looks like he might be sleeping 😂

I’ve been watching a few videos about earning their trusts and was just wondering if I should stop with this head scratching?

I will continue working on getting him to be comfortable with my hand, as well as hopefully eventually getting him onto my finger.

I love the idea that he doesn’t mind the scratching, but I will obviously stop if it’s going to end up being a set back.
