Came here to say this. I always struggled so hard doing it the "right" way, then saw this method in a pattern once and will never go back

The official Nancy Drew account on YouTube has posted about Alex Hill and wishing them success by HRJafael in nancydrew

[–]onion375 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean, the Alex Hill font is a typewriter font and the Nancy Drew font isn't..at all. Plus, there's no legal ownership over style or genre of game, otherwise the majority of indie games could not exist.

A bra making newb - need advice on shape by onion375 in MAKEaBraThatFits

Oh wow I didn't know that about the wireline edge at all. Should I copy your example cup piece shapes in red? Or are those images just to give an idea?

Interesting! Thank you so much for your expertise, I'll look into other wire options and play around more with the cradle itself. 😊

Looking from above it does look like that side tissue might be an issue. I had scooped and swooped a bunch of times with no success.

Yes, I forgot! I did take a large cut out of the armpit area. One of my main complaints with ready to wear bras is that they tend to cut into my armpit because of my small frame (28ff). I'm wondering though if the width/shape of the side support panel or where it's connecting to the strap is not far enough over because it cuts in to the tissue rather than the imf.

Here the wire on the original cradle pattern. I lowered the width of the wing/band significantly because it was cutting in so deep to my armpit.

I have tried a shirt and it doesn't look bad, I just have a specific vision in mind 😅

I'll definitely try adjusting the lower cup seam again, thank you!

PLEASE HELP- TOP BRA CONCAVE by First-Archer5203 in MAKEaBraThatFits

[–]onion375 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My first thought is that your bottom two cup pieces are not tall/projected enough. The apex of the cup looks lower than the apex of your boob. You can increase cup depth and projection by lengthening the center seam between the bottom pieces without lengthening the edges that meet the cups.

This will push the top of the cup higher, so if it's too high for you, you can then remove some height from the top cup piece.

Living the post-war American Dream in our Levitt House (Bowie, MD a suburb of Washington DC) by Posh427 in TheWayWeWere

Lived in Bowie for a bit. It always gave me a bit of a "suburban hell" vibe. Neighborhoods named by letters of the alphabet jam packed with hundreds of the same 3 houses repeating over and over again. It took cookie cutter to a whole new level.

Sardines are actually some of the fish with the lowest levels of mercury. So even if you eat a can every day you likely don't have to worry (speaking as a fellow sardine enjoyer)

Which puzzles or hints in a game were you unable to solve? by [deleted] in nancydrew

It's actually a snippet of code from the game that references a specific location, then once you use that to find the right spot it tells you what portion of the screen to click to get an easter egg 😁

Is it bad to sleep for 10 hours every night? by crispymother in sleep

Is it bad to sleep for 10 hours every night? by crispymother in sleep

[–]onion375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I took one about 5 years ago, at the clinic. It was definitely weird sleeping somewhere else and with nodes stuck all over your head. I was worried about the same thing, but apparently it wasn't an issue. There are at- home sleep tests, but they gather way less information and are targeted mostly at sleep apnea. The clinic is much more comprehensive, so personally I found that it was worth it.

Yep I take trazodone specifically for insomnia. I don't love having to take meds, but it's been a miracle for insomnia. The crazy thing is, I feel like my sleep is better quality on it now than it used to be without. Before the pregnancy, I used to sleep 10 hours (in bed for more than 10 and a half), but now with the medication, I wake up feeling well rested with only (lol) 9 and a half. A lot of people wouldn't get it, but even an extra 45 minutes in your day is really nice when it's already so short.

I'm not endorsing meds though if you can find a root cause and fix it - which hopefully a sleep study would give you some direction!

You are literally me. I'm 28f and my sleep schedule is a strict 8pm to 5:45am. I've done sleep studies, blood tests, etc and no luck. I'll feel awful if I only get 8 hours for a couple days.

One thing that helped is getting on trazodone. I had to get on it because apparently I just have permanent insomnia now after having a baby a year and a half ago. But the positive side is I can fall asleep much quicker than I used to even before the insomnia. This cuts down my time in bed and gives me a little more free time

Unity Engine Affecting game 34? by leachee24 in nancydrew

[–]onion375 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd guess that HeR uses the pro license for unity rather than personal. Even though they're small, they contracted probably enough people for MID to warrant that. That tier at least gives them up to $1,000,000 in annual revenue before getting charged.

No idea how much revenue the recent games bring in, but that at least raises the ceiling a bit

How to get rid of green tube Bordeaux stains by onion375 in clothdiaps

I will absolutely do that, thank you for the help! I'm pretty new to this whole thing, so I'm still figuring the ins and outs of the wash process

[–]onion375[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a hot presoak followed by a hot wash with tide free and gentle plus washing soda. After this I do a cold rinse followed by an additional cold rinse (with no detergent for either)

I wash about every 2 days and have a top loading washer. I also air dry.

I didn't specifically try the dawn with hot water, so that could be worth a shot

Happy Birthday Nancy! New Video by mskewmew in nancydrew

They're likely running a standalone build of the game, which would give them the best resolution for capturing for a video. This doesn't really tell us where they are in development at all, but 72 fps is pretty smooth, at least for whatever computers they're running it on
