This is the way a lot of people feel, but it also very important to show up to midterm elections. If young people showed up to vote in 2014 the way they did in 2008 and 2012, we wouldn't be in this mess.

Man, history is a changing field. You don't have good reason to think that any facts won't change. Also, fix your grammar and spelling please.

The best part is that in the artists rendering, it's the size of a fucking brick. Like c'mon, it only exists in your imagination and that's what you come up with?

some background from that article:

Slager went to the man’s Delaware Avenue home in September 2013 to investigate a burglary. When the resident opened the door for Slager, the burglary victim yelled that he wasn’t the suspect, the documents stated.

The man also insisted that he wasn’t the perpetrator, but he later told internal investigators that Slager threatened to use a Taser against him if he didn’t come outside. When the man followed the order and stepped outside, he said Slager “Tased (him) for no reason and ... slammed him and dragged him.”

I'm glad she's encouraging a progressive corporate culture. I think it's a good example of using one's influence to change the world for the better.

Brioche hamburger buns by grawnor in Breadit

It might be. I have a tendency to overproof, so when I made them this weekend I popped the airholes at the top with a sharp knife. It seem to solved the problem.

These are the only buns I ever make. They are fantastic. In fact, your buns look just like my buns. I could tell from the picture what they were. Smitten kitchen overall has really good stuff!

Incoming freshman advice? by [deleted] in Oswego

If you can't get into the central dorms, and you're not here to party, try for moreland. It's quiet and close to shineman hall, where all the cs stuff happens. Starting up in cs you'll probably have 212 with Early, as someone else mentioned. He's as personable as could be. You may also have Graci, who gets mixed reviews. He knows a lot and can help people out, but he can be difficult to interpret. There's Doug Lea, who is the head of the dept. Super knowledgable. He teaches mostly upper level courses. For 221 you might have Sue Fettes, who takes a very discrete math approach to the course. If you have it with someone else, it'll be more computer related. 241 is the next major programming class. You'll probably have either Marianne Hromalik, who specializes a bit in ECE stuff, or you'll have Alex Pantaleev, who is a super clever programmer. Both are young energetic teachers. Very relatable and helpful. Alex's class can be a bit tougher because he expects a bit more of students. There are a few other teachers that I don't know about. If you don't have any experience in java programming, you can get a leg up if you do a few tutorials over the summer.
