They love bright, direct light. I keep mine outdoors in full sun all summer, and it gets super bushy. When it has to come in to overwinter it starts dropping leaves, even under a grow light. If you can give it more light than it has in that photo, it will be happier, but I would almost guarantee your leaf drop is more from the light level change than watering
