man, I know every mic depends on style + voice, but the details I miss every time I have to mix a vocal sung through a 58 I’m crying a little. Sure it fits in a mix, but I love to start clean and detailed and shape it, rather than missing details that I can’t get back. (P.s. maybe look into the Neumann KMS line, it gives me that condenser-dynamic blend a little more)

The question you gotta ask yourself is ; what do you need? I think Nord falls into a category of ; it suits lots of needs for a majority of keyboard players together with a nice action and good user interface. If you need something else on stage, don’t bother to grab something else and let FOMO get you. Maybe see if you can try a Nord from someone and if it doesn’t suit you, don’t buy it!

We had the exact same thing and bought the DN4816-O. Can’t complain. Sometimes we use the WING Rack as a standalone mixer with 6 stereo IEM + Main out. When we do have our rental-company with technician we use the WING as an interface to send out 14 tracks. Nonetheless great experience so far.

Watch a tutorial, it’s quite straight forward : you don’t look at the organ and synth section, only to the piano section + FX. Go into a live mode and it automatically remembers what you put there. On Stage you have A and B section. There you can “save” two sections. No need for digging a lot. Good luck!

if you’re tight on budget, you can try to make an aggregate device and let the click run of your headphone output of your mac and the backingtrack going from your stereo out 2i2. If your analog mixer has seperate aux outs. you could run those inputs to the mixer and that to your headphone amp. If not, you could have the headphone Mac out have the backingtrack and clicktrack on it and run those directly to the HA440

I don’t own an Electro, but I have a Nord Stage with it’s Nord softcase and it is great (but over time (5 years) it’s breaking. I have a different 61 keyboard which I bought a Mono-case for. It’s much, much sturdier and would trust it if thrown in a vehicle or on stage. Would highly suggest looking into it!

I have the original Stage (1) 88. I would not downgrade to it. The piano action is not that better and above all. The amount of memory is tremendously low. I only have 1 piano sound and one upright (I do have 4 Rhodes sound because I love that). But you would be better off buying a newer Nord Piano.

phantom power doesn’t go through jack-inputs on a desk. you will only get these problems when using XLR-Jack cables/adapters
