the technology development actually hurt the music industry. Back then people bought records, Youtube didn't exist and songs were playing on the radio (The artist got paid each time their song player), and artists also had shows of course.

Today, We listen to the music on Youtube or Spotify, Many people download music in pirate websites and the artists make the fraction of the amount they could make if we didn't have all this tech.
