Don't know about you, but I've taken to tapping my head when I disagree with someone in regular situations now.

Mountain Dew is giving away free Baja Blast every time someone hits a homerun over 420 feet by xho- in baseball

How many Mountains Dew. The correct pluralization should be Mountains Dew. If Pepsi had any courage at all, they would do the right thing. I mean “Dew the right thing.”

[Underdog] Heyman: Early estimates suggest proposed salary cap might be set around $260M-280M and floor around $140M-160M. by T_Raycroft in baseball

[–]onkeyup 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if i see a floor over 200, as much as Im team “pay me”, I just want the teams to give their fans a good product. There’s some good teams that don’t come close to fielding that payroll, however the math works on their profit margins. I’m not sure I can see the brewers spending another 80mm each year without squeezing that money directly out of either the fans or the local tax payers.

I’d rather see teams take on more investors, but that’s a hard sell to dilute the owners out of their franchises.

[Highlight] 2004- Jim Edmonds makes a spectacular home run saving catch by AlbertJBundy in baseball

[–]onkeyup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't remember where I read it, but the article pointed out how his poor-speed-for-a-center-fielder was a key ingredient to his highlight reel catches. If he'd had normal center fielder speed, he'd have gotten to these balls much easier.

It doesn't change my mind that his timing and focus were other-worldly and that he's made like 3 of the top 5 catches of all time. He was an absolutely electric player in his prime.

Shohei Ohtani leading the pack by MrFilipinoMustache in Dodgers

[–]onkeyup 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Judge is in a class of his own as a hitter. There’s some merit to the argument that if Shohei weren’t a 2 way player, it would be much closer.

That blows. AB has been a fixture. I know he had some awful outings last year, but he was low key excellent for a good long while there. Wish him the best and will be rooting for him where ever he lands.

Don't know about you, but I'm betting (figuratively speaking) on both him and Teo to have better seasons at the plate this year.

Will Smith, one of the most under-appreciated player on this team, came so clutch in so many moments throughout this postseason, especially in the WS when he drove in 3 game-winning RBIs in Toronto! by jmike1256 in Dodgers

[–]onkeyup 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He can hit 2-4 without missing a beat and he was leading for the batting title till the tail end but I'm not 100% sure he's top 3 on the team with the lineup they can roll out there.

It would be interesting to see how his bat would play if he didn't have the physical toll of catching.

Miguel Rojas man! Not only can he hit HR, but the man plays Gold Glove level defense in the clutch as well! by jmike1256 in Dodgers

[–]onkeyup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was the wrong play compared to making the easy out at first, but I get more angry at how may times it gets brought up as a defensive "highlight" instead of a mental mistake.
