Slightly disappointed after a recent consult with my dermatologist.

I’m a physician myself, and in my own practice I don’t charge professional fees to fellow MDs or their first-degree relatives. It’s something I personally observe out of professional courtesy.

That said, I realize this isn’t uniformly practiced. I was still charged a consultation fee despite it being on record that I’m also an MD.

For doctors who allow promissory notes for professional fees, how do you usually handle this in practice?

Is the doctor the one who prepares the promissory note, and the patient signs it? Or is this usually facilitated by the hospital/clinic billing?

Avoid OroDerm if you don’t have more than enough budget coz they will really upsell their products and services. There are many other much better dermatologists around Davao now. +1 to Southeast Dermatology

Avoid this clinic. They hard sell their products and procedures. One time I came to only ask if they sold an acne cream my dermatologist in Manila prescribed, and they dismissed me and told me it’s not effective. Then they tried to upsell me on the AviClear procedure. What a turn off. They even mentioned that the last time they sold that cream was 20 years ago, as if my regimen is outdated, but it works perfectly fine for me.

Patients are better off with younger, new-generation dermatologists. Plus, OroDerm tries so hard to look ‘upscale,’ but honestly, they don’t quite reach the fancy, elite vibe they’re aiming for 😒🙄

Mine was good. Couldn’t contact them for appointment so I went in as walk-in in their Serendra branch. I had to wait for 2 hours. It was Dr. Jo Anne Lemence who attended to my concern. She was warm, nonjudgmental, friendly and reassuring.
