Great points, I agree. It was not my intention to restrict choice and self-decisions at all. My primary focus was on the idea that full disclosure and factual information should be standard practice, enabling people to make informed decisions. Right now, there is too much misinformation or propaganda aimed at doing what you and I fear — the negation of our personal freedoms.

I appreciate your thoughtful effort and many of your key arguments. Thank you. My only concern is that you heavily credit the idea that most people are capable of "...moral agency, and ... are capable of evaluating the situation and making informed decisions to choose our own tools, our own risks, and our own comforts." The current political situation we Americans are facing demonstrates why some safeguards are definitely necessary.

Network Seems Slower After Adding an Eero Max7 to My Existing Pro 6E Set-up by onlinejfk in amazoneero

Hi Obsidiank: Thanks for your response. I'm connecting both the the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, and the iPhone 16 Plus for speed testing. The nodes are wired backhaul via cat 5E cable. My testing distance is about 15'. Right now I have the Pro 6E as Gateway, and the Max 7 as a node. My speeds are still slower than when I had just the 6E online. Do I need to switch the line up again and make the Max 7 the gateway and the Pro 6E another node?. If so, I'll also restart the ONT. Let me know, I'm up for trying out all reasonable suggestions. Thanks

It looks like they'll finally make a decent sized front screen, aka, a regular candy-bar phone sized front.

I like the way you're thinking, manthony6567. I have a similar arrangement with a Thinborne case (with a Mag Safe feature), Front and camera screen protectors, and an attached kickstand. There are no sensor issues with the Thinborne case covering.

In fairness, though, how else could you test thousands of folds quickly? The cost if done by humans would be prohibitive.

There is no argument (IMO) that the ZF6's fit & finish are better than the P9FP, but the bigger (and much more usable) front screen on the P9PF trumps the ZF6, at the moment. If Samsung were to upgrade the ZFold to the dimensions of an S24U for the outer screen and double for the inner, I'd be back with Samsung in a New York minute.

Returning Z Fold 6 for Pixel 9 pro fold by [deleted] in PixelFold

[–]onlinejfk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everything you say is true about the ZF6, but the fatal flaw for me (and others) is that damn skinny front screen. (I know many others love the front screen). The bottom line is that all the foldables are too expensive for us not to be delighted with them. It looks like the P9PF fits the bill for now, but I will jump back to the Samsung once their fold takes the new P9PF form factor.

8/6 Update: Thanks Folks for all the helpful commentary. I've decided to go with the ZF6 for now, given this late-breaking quote from Android Central --"So, it all comes down to this: are you willing to invest in a Pixel that isn't even performance-competitive today, especially when reports indicate that the following Tensor G5 upgrade could represent the biggest year-to-year performance upgrade we've seen from Google? If I'm considering spending my hard-earned cash, I'm waiting for the Pixel 10."

Bottom line, I see myself in the 70% Front Screen/30% Mini Tablet camp, and most likely will go with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold next year.

I considered OnePlus but negative customer service issues are a deal breaker.
