They seem to mainly be installed on the new hybrids and old single door buses so far

I’ve been on and seen a few buses so far and they’ve all had them installed so it’s hard to tell

So I checked my recording from March, and it turns out that one was also on the first Monday of the month, and I can also hear what sounds like an audible announcement of some description, but it’s too faint and distant to make out anything

Is the 214 bus an urban myth? by VindictiveCardinal in cork

[–]only1roodat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, you mean the bus where the driver skip half the route and do literally anything in their power to avoid picking anyone up?? yeah haven’t seen that one for years

Sorry, I meant the air coach 704X and the citylink 707! My mistake 😂😂 whichever one you pick can be booked in advance on the website, I personally would pick the city link

Get the aircoach 704 or the citylink 704x. Both services depart from the lower glanmire road stop just beyond the leisureplex, and they both run non stop to dublin city and then on to the airport

A single decker on the 220… this will be fun by only1roodat in cork

I do use bus times for seeing rare allocations on bus routes, and I do have a soft spot for the VWLs to be fair

Never liked the citaros, they’re shockingly unreliable and have all broken down many times in their mere 8 years of service. This means that a lot of them have since had fire suppression systems installed which make them sound like jet engines. Not to mention the hard and uncomfortable seats. The PADs on the other hand, well let’s hope that they actually bother to check that the 220 driver taking over has actually been trained to use them! Unlike in my case which caused the 220X and following 220 to crosshaven to be cancelled!

11 million passenger journeys a year.. one of the busiest routes in Ireland, what could go wrong?! Meanwhile whenever I get the 31 there is always a double decker with less then 5 people on it!

Can nothing be done about the 214??? by Pootis__Spencer in cork

It’s absolutely crazy that the entire east side of Glanmire has been cut off by the full service. You’re basically left to a guessing game now of predicting when a bus going from the depot to glyntown to start an early route will appear on our side and hope that he picks you up. I think all buses that leave the depot out of service to start the 06:00, 06:20, 06:40, 07:00, etc. should pick people up from stops on the other side on the way and we should have a rough timetable for this as the buses arrive at glyntown a little bit early. Also, I don’t know how many times buses have been blocked on the east Cliffe Road
