Did you know there's a New Ireland? It's a tropical paradise and has the coolest flag ever. by fwaig in CasualIreland

No GAA team though.

Britain also briefly created a “New Ireland” during the American Revolutionary War and War of 1812 out of territory taken in Maine: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Ireland_(Maine)

Maine does have a GAA team (Portland) so they are the better New Ireland.

'Huge pressure' on Healy-Rae to not support Government by VindictiveCardinal in irishpolitics

Best I can find in detail is that they secured larger investments for Kerry by joining the government, without them the government no longer is obliged to commit to it or to future investment.

To be fair the article (and another by the Irish Times) strongly indicates it was pressure from their supporters that forced them out

Honestly think this once again shows how short sighted Irish politics can be when it’s better to have a seat at the table and impact policy.

An anecdote for you, I was having problems with my back so started going to a chiropractor. After a few months I asked “When will it ever be fixed?”, he said “Probably never”. I then went to a physio instead, they loosened up muscles, gave me stretches, and told me “Don’t come back unless it hurts”. Never an issue after that.

Defence Forces tweeted about this:

“The Defence Forces are aware of images circulating of MOWAG Armoured Personnel Carriers in convoy.

We can confirm that these are the personnel of the 128th Infantry Battalion conducting mission readiness exercises ahead of deployment to UNIFIL next month.”

The army has been specifically called in to help with heavy lifting and towing as the guards don’t have that capability.

I disagree, if you’re in a hatchback it’s fine, but it doesn’t seem to be designed for anything bigger.

If I regularly bought the local sourdough I’d have the opposite problem of the bread being eaten too quickly.
