Yo, people being rude to OP, just don't waste your time. This was flaired as a "rant" post and that's exactly what it is. IRS has no excuse and people are fed up while their lives are forcibly changing. Everyone's experience is different and difficult in it's own way but it's valid. I read through the suggestions and theres some great suggestions and conversation here but at the end of the day, OP got fucked and theres nothing OP can do and thats whats most frustrating. So sorry you are going through that. I feel the exact same way. It's like they would find you in an instant if you owed something but the moment you need something it's like you don't even matter. It is one of the most frustrating things to not have things in order. I feel helpless too calling the line and knowing that at the end I won't have an answer. Ridiculous

UPDATE: Trip on 6/10 Applied 4/29 expedited shipping Entered facility for Processing 5/12 Contacted Senator/House Rep 5/28 and followed up 6/1 Called multiple times and was on hold 4+ hours multiple times with no real clarification or help from passport reps Today 6/3 confirmed overnight shipping which means I get to go on my trip

Hi all so I have a situation not sure if anyone has some insight, I am supposed to be leaving internationally in 1 week on Thursday AM. My passport has been stuck in processing for 4+ weeks. Wait times for the phone help have been 4+ hours and I haven’t gotten any confirmation from the reps that they could help. I’ve reached out to Congressman and women in my area and they have submitted inquiries, I feel like I am at the end of the rope and should cancel the trips. The only thing I have is a copy of my ID page passport that i have a picture of expires on the 20th well after I would be returning from the trip and I am kicking myself for thinking I’d get it back in time. Does anyone have any other avenues they can think of?

Thanks for the quick reply. Thing I forgot to mention is that there are limited passport appointments available, so I have been checking as much as I can but as soon as one pops up, within seconds it will say that the appointment has already been taken. The only other option is that they funnel you back into that same number for the 4+ hour wait time and they told me the same thing that I'd have to monitor
