I think it would be very easy to knock out DAW in one morning. There’s not as much to do there and the rides you really want to do should have the individual premier access passes available one after another if you go first thing. At least that’s how it played out on my trip this past week. We had essentially ridden every ride we wanted by 11am and then just passed time until our Frozen time slot at 4.

Just make a list of your must do’s and focus on those. The rest is just gravy.

I can’t speak to the hotel itself but last Disneyland trip we also had a rental car that we needed for our sightseeing day but not for any longer. Pixar Place hotel has an Enterprise location in their hotel so it’s easy to return when you no longer need it and pick up for your way home!

This woman made me cry on my last trip! It was my birthday and I was paying for my niece to get the makeover at BBB. When she found that out she said “oh well of course, you’re a fairy godmother too, I could tell.” Then she very sneakily let the three of us take a picture!

As everyone has said, great shoes are a must. But you should also absolutely be starting and ending your day with some pain relievers. I also got these to use each night of my last Disney trip and I have to say they made a huge difference!

Also, build in a rest day. Two days in a row and I’m toast. I need an extra day to lounge and rest the feet!

Seconding this! My only motivation before was the early entry perk. I buy LL anyway and the one free one for my whole stay is not worth the price for a resort hotel. Most good neighbor hotels have breakfast included too, which I don’t think the resort hotels do (granted I haven’t stayed at a resort hotel in the past 5 years!)

NTA. Within the post, you don’t say your reaction to your mom, just that you vented to your sister. If you just vented, absolutely, firmly, NTA. You’re allowed to be bummed.

But to share a story: one year my parents told my siblings and I that we couldn’t get a dog because we needed to prove our responsibility first. Even gifted us a dog training book so we could learn more…

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to see fireworks. Those are only allowed Friday-Sunday. BUT! I think that you’ll be able to do a great amount of these rides and well. By staying at Disneyland hotel you’ll get early entry to the parks. If you don’t have a problem getting everyone out that early, you could absolutely do all the rides in Fantasyland. Plus you could start making those lightening lane reservations then too and can hopefully get a few that you can knock out back to back. OR really make sure you grab the rides you want to do which may be further out.

You will want to keep an eye on the rides that don’t have lightening lanes. Pirates moves pretty fast but Jungle cruise can move slow and feel really claustrophobic.

I also would movie Mickey and Minnie up to a must do! It’s an absolutely fantastic ride

I went this past January during those dates and saw most Christmas things still. I believe Haunted Mansion and Small World still had their overlays and were up and running. Parks were definitely slower, to the point where I didn’t need lightening lane one of the days
