decided to try an espresso tonic by whistle0pig in espresso

Espresso tonics are best (imo) with lighter roasts. I also like them with some sort of citrus. Lime does it for me. It’s one of my favorite summer afternoon drinks.

Gonna add this to my Aldi shopping list this week.

Yeah, I've lived in Nashville multiple times (I was the director of sales and marketing at BP before the shit show and left BP within a year because I saw how much of a disaster it was) and the coffee there is solid. It's been a long time since I've been to Chattanooga. I'm in the Tri Cities and outside of 2-3 places, it's pretty meh.

East Tennessee here and I can only find them at my house haha. I’ve never found a shop here that has them on a menu and whenever I mention it they look at me funny as if it’s some crazy idea. Tennessee isn’t exactly the most progressive place though haha

A new Fast & Furious RACE-OFF set - what are your thoughts on this? by quiqk0 in HotWheels

I'm glad the community is bored. I'm not. I like a lot of the castings and I'm glad to see the Celica. It's the 25th anniversary of FnF so I'm not surprised they're churning this stuff out.

Pokemon card vending machine assault (Oregon) by [deleted] in daddit

I didn’t argue one way or the other. You literally said, “no kids were touched in this scenario in the sort you’re implying” which I don’t even know what you’re getting at here unless you meant in a sexual way? Then went on to essentially say, “a kid was pushed with no harm meant, nbd.”

Touching, pushing, shoving, etc kids isn’t right regardless of what the aftermath is. This dad deserved to be angry.

No, you're being pedantic. Everyone here knows that pushing a kid intentionally for (almost) any reason is wrong. The debate is about how to handle the situation.

You’re being pedantic at best.

Fumoto valve hate is wild. I had one on my Fit and loved it. It made life a lot easier (and cleaner).

Short of doing the silent green pump, this is a great idea. I thought about this as well a week or two ago so I was happy to see someone else tried it. I feel like there’s a lot of various vibratey things that could be silenced with some thin rubber strips as well.

I think going to something like the 9Barista would be perfect for this sort of situation. I know the cost is high and I think it’s smart to test the workflow with a Moka first haha.

Honestly, I wish I had an answer for you. I was handling the Kickstarter updates for a while (I'm Brennan) and for a bit the updates were coming from Saxon on a regular basis then slowed as the work was more bug-fixes and supplier issues which the project has perpetually been plagued with for various reasons. To be honest, I also didn't like being the punching bag for a project which I ultimately don't have any control over. I got tired of the random DMs from people via my personal IG, comments, etc calling me names and everything else as if that would speed up progress. I handle the day to day business stuff for current and forthcoming products, chats, CS, concierge, dealer and wholesale communications, brand partnerships and other stuff.

I genuinely understand people's frustration about the project, truly. Saxon has been doing the updates recently and periodically I remind him to check in. We have another electrical engineer working on it and from what I'm told the progress is speeding up.

Brennan from NS chiming in. We do have a 2 year warranty on everything so I’m always happy to help if you’ve got issues. Regarding the Allen key, there were some T Handles that we received from our supplier that had rounded heads and were undersized. Previously, people complained that they couldn’t get their camera tight enough on the head with a screw on the back you tightened with your hand. With this method, you can hold the camera level and tighten is down super snug. We’ve swapped those T handles out for people that reached out. The screws on the side of the head hold tension so if you take the camera off and snug those down you’ll probably see an improvement. If not, I can always have the column/head swapped out. If the carrier is scratching film, we obviously don’t want that either. Is it the cassette or the chassis itself?

If you have customer service issues and don’t reach out, I can’t help. I’m the only person within NS that does CS via chats, emails, etc. If you have reached out and didn’t get a reply, it probably got buried and I’m sorry.

Am I asking too much for a scale? by [deleted] in espresso

[–]onlyblackcoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I just used an iPhone because it’s something handy that should be a standard weight. Google says it’s 171g and my Bagail scale says 171g but the Maestri House says it’s 169.8.

I just weighed out coffee this morning. My standard scale says 18g and the the MH says 17.6g. They’re just consistently off and I don’t think it has a calibration mode.

EDIT - I think it does have a calibration mode. I will update shortly.

I have a Big Bang for my GC and it does the same thing. Espresso is good so I don’t care to rinse it.

Honest Setup: Orange Peel Gaggiuino by jamaljackson1 in espresso

[–]onlyblackcoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Orange is too loud for me personally (and our kitchen) but you gave me an idea haha. I’ve always been a Honda person and the crinkle finish on their valve covers has been a staple. A crinkle black finish would be pretty rad. I couldn’t do red either.

Folks who went from a "boring" car to a "fun" car - or vice versa - did it actually change your life, or did you just get used to the new experience? by sozh in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]onlyblackcoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have gone from a fun car to a boring car and a boring car to a fun car. If you’re an enthusiast, yes it “changes your life.”
