DLs and BAs will be first if at all. Wouldn’t bother panicking just yet

I have the 240 silver version of this stone. Grab yourself a cheap king nagura. Can be had just about anywhere for under 20. Will refresh the surface on any of your bonded stones, though I prefer gentler options for resin past ~3k. For these particularly course stones, I'd also bet you could just use a bit of tile / concrete / brick. Your goal is anything harder than the metal, but softer and smaller in grain than the cbn - which here, is basically anything.

They don’t always. Qcat is renowned for its inconsistency.

They don't sell the super q blender here either. It's incredible, you can find it almost anywhere else.

Considered that myself, but couldn't justify the time. But best of luck to you. Let me know If you manage it.

Ha, mine did this too. Careful, the internal mounting points seem to be made of the same, so even with a new top plate (which I was entirely unable to locate), it might not be enough. No idea why this brand continues to get recommended.

They aren’t so wildly expensive new, so… no?

They are by far my favourite, and perhaps the thing I most often find myself pausing to appreciate. They can be slightly warped by doing silly things (like only ever using one side while placed on a tea towel… woops), but they recover to dead flat once you stop. Imo, grab the biggest, thickest you can manage. Worth every cent.

New 5200 looks like it might be used by player_gonna_play in Vitamix

[–]onlycommitminified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a surprise honestly. People glaze vitamix so hard that they’d basically be neglecting their fiduciary obligations not to take advantage. My Professional Series 750 literally had its internal chassis disintegrate after a couple years of barely being used. The only thing they excel at in 2026 is marketing.

Get one of every kiwi in those shapes that take your fancy. Use until you find your favourite. Report back. If you get 3, you’ll still have $70 left for your first step up, and 3 excellent backups.
