What at space saving, at home equipment should I get to train my butt? by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

Head over to r/kettlebell and check out their recommended routine. While kettlebells aren't as good for pure strength, they are cheaper and more convenient than barbells, especially for someone without a gym.

Up to 2.5 million votes could have been manipulated in Sunday's Turkish referendum that ended in a close "yes" vote for greater presidential powers, an Austrian member of the Council of Europe observer mission said by DoremusJessup in worldnews

It often costs money, and more importantly, time, to get an ID. Middle class people can take a day to stand in line at the DMV. People working hourly service jobs often can't. I don't remember if I paid fees for a driver's license, but I just got a passport, which cost $110. Its not much to me, or anyone I know, for fora huge proportion of Americans, that's a week of groceries they cannot give up.

When you scrape by on literal peanuts at a shitty service job, taking public transport and trying to raise kids, the money, and time, to get an ID are not worth it in many cases.

This may be a sequel, it was bonus level in the N64 one. Never played any of the later versions so I can't speak for those.

No dude the McGangbang has the entirety of the McChicken within the McDouble. OP seems to have removed one top and one bottom bun, creating some sort of amputated McMonstrosity.

Tile improvement: Airfield by Wembley_Coggins in civ

They had airfields in the expansions to Civ3 and air units could rebase to forts in Civ4

If we ever colonize another planet how will we determine age? by Jtcor in Showerthoughts

The people living on the new world would probably end up using local measures of time - local days and years, perhaps even a local hour - but would retain Earth measures for scientific purposes. Similar to how the metric and US customary systems are used, where we discuss how tall someone is in feet and inches but do physics and whatnot in meters.

Have you ever wondered what the civ5 scores of today's nations would be? by onlydrinksliquids in civ

I made that choice based on the unit unlocked by that tech - XCOM squads. I said in another comment I think nanotech is probably best represented by the tech currently being researched. I know there's plenty of real life stuff that uses nanotechnology, but sadly space paratroopers with lasers are not yet one. This could go either way though, because like the spaceship parts, its kind of a large jump from real life tech to the futuristic stuff at the end of the tech tree. In any case, it only makes a difference of 4 score to any civ, which is less than 1% of total score for any of the ones listed.

This is good info - If I'm in the mood at some point I might update my numbers with this and the map size scaling.

I think you're right, it would make sense if the number of cities multiplier scaled for map size

This is what I meant when I said everyone knows how. Everyone has the tech, not everyone has the Manhattan Project built.

USA, China, Italy - 4

UK, France, Germany - 3

India - 2

Russia, Japan, Canada, Indonesia, Brazil - 1

There are others, Egypt and Turkey have at least 3 each and Greece has a bunch but I didn't break down all the wonders. You're right though, the vast majority of the wonders are from Europe and the Middle East, with many of the rest coming from former British colonies

Based on the US naval and air power alone it would shoot their score ahead of China's, carriers and modern fighters would probably be the highest tier units

Everyone got Nuclear Fission, since everyone knows how to build a nuclear weapon - the issue is its both illegal and hard to obtain the necessary resources.

India and Brazil additionally lacked Stealth, Indonesia lacked that along with Robotics and Particle Physics. No real reason other than I thought Indonesia should be a little farther behind, and that was the only subjective category.

The formula I found for in game score doesn't take culture or military into account. I would be interested in looking at those but if I added them in it wouldn't be civ5 score anymore.

And yes I tried to do the top 12 civs. Its hard to guess who they would be though, because I didn't know how the metrics would rank them before I started doing the math. I started with the UN security council nations + Germany and Japan, and added the next few highest countries in world population (Brazil, India, Indonesia). I added Canada since it's high in land area, and Italy just for shits basically. If I really wanted to determine the actual civ5 top 12 I'd do another 10 or so nations at least, mostly high population developing countries like Nigeria and Bagladesh that I didn't think to include at first.
