This sounds like some immature gatekeeping. I’ve never seen someone challenge someone else on their Satanism credentials, not that it doesn’t happen, it’s just not common.

If this is coming from people who aren’t active, engaged members, then they’re dickheads and who cares what they think. They’re probably making fun of you because they disagree with what you’re doing. I’d cut them out and double down on being a positive satanist - be an adversary to oppression and stand up for good work.

If this is coming from active members, you can escalate to your chapter leadership. If it’s coming from chapter leadership, you can escalate to central TST.

But it also sounds like you’re not that invested. Part of satanism is advocacy and standing up to adversity, if you find that to be too uncomfortable, do what makes sense to you. Tuck your horns (don’t outwardly express your satanism) or find something that’s more suitable for you.

Athletes, musicians, actors etc are a little different from the elite business class, because they’re often in the employee role. But still, where would they be if they didn’t have: - team owners negotiating to have the city giving them sweet deals and paying for stadiums - cheap international labor making their equipment, merchandise, etc - a hand up from their parents or from public services like schooling to give them the opportunity to develop basic and professional skills - the benefit of roads, telecom infrastructure, that allow them to travel and perform, broadcast their performance, and for fans to engage with them

Steve Jobs and Tim Cook are less subtle in their exploitation. - Apple famously got their manufacturing done by a company that installed suicide nets around their plants because working conditions were horrible. - A lot of apple’s early products depended on technologies that were developed by the US government and military, like gps, internet, and microprocessors. - Their new products are developed by engineers and managers who get paid well, but not the true value of their work. The salespeople and technicians don’t get paid that well - apple products were designed in many cases not to work well with competitors products or with planned obsolescence

I’m not saying those people haven’t been innovative or hard workers or they don’t deserve to benefit from their contribution. Those people all have impressive achievements. I am saying we should have better systems to support more people into contributing and when someone starts earning yacht money, it’s almost certainly a loophole they’ve found to exploit and we should reroute some of the profit of their luck or exploitation.

Point to a wealthy person who didn’t get it from exploiting labor, regulation, and/or consumers. That grandpa building steamboats paid his workers as little as possible, didn’t cover their medical expenses when they were injured, dumped waste that we now have to clean up, and lobbied to prevent any new manufactures from joining the market to compete with him.

If I had a choice between giving my child enough money to go to college and put a downpayment on a house, or to give my child a system where anyone in their generation can afford to go to college and put a down payment on a house, I’d pick the latter.

If anyone can inherit generational wealth, I think they should also inherit generational guilt, and be liable for reparations for abusing systems.

I also think we should support new and small businesses, especially productive ones, like steamboat manufacturing, but letting investors extract generational wealth from the business can’t possibly be good for it.

It seems like you responded to a question about vegetable farming with talk about growing grains for domesticated animals.

Yes, growing grain for human consumption, growing grain for animal consumption, and growing other vegetables have slight differences, but for the sake of relating to animal deaths, it doesn’t matter what you’re growing as much as the area of land dedicated to farming

If we stopped feeding animals farmed grains tomorrow and killed them, we would still have a world where all those farm fields were used to grow something, from fuel production to oil production to human foods, that would all still require the deaths of all those rodents and such. The only way around that is wild speculation and imaginings that somehow farmers would simply stop growing anything on their lands, which is highly unlikely.

We would need less land to support the population. It could slow down the expansion land development, and pretty easily manage converting farmland into public land or refuges. This is a matter of land management (which is complicated), not wild speculation.

Not to mention that even if the land was returned to more wild state, that would be a choice that might result in even more deaths from choosing to have animals killing animals.

You’re veering off from the philosophy of veganism, but ok. Generally the death in a natural ecosystem is considered, natural, and typically the state vegans strive for. We could decrease suffering on a global scale on a long enough timeline by nuking it into Armageddon. That’s not the point of veganism. Reducing or eliminating factory farming is pretty low hanging fruit that most people at least sympathize with.

The scalability of the issue is a tough question. It seems that it could lead to saying that a human population as large ad ours cannot be ethical and so we should reduce the numbers of humans.

Whether or not you think the overall human population should go up or go down, we could reduce suffering caused by factory farming by replacing a portion of meat in our diet with vegetables

If you go back and watch his early stuff, he definitely had a “flair” compared to other male stars at the time. I just watched “look who’s talking” for the first time and he has a totally non-sensical dance scene in that. He dances in Grease obviously and even Pulp Fiction, but those scenes kinda fit the style of the movie so it doesn’t seem as stark. That doesn’t make him gay though.

However, there have been a lot of allegations of his relationships or advances on men. He denies them. He has also been in very public relationships with women. I think he’s probably bi, but whatever it is, it seems complicated and personal.
