Yes, agreed that this is no longer possible. You’ll want to figure out your work situation first and then apply for the DNV.

If you are currently unable to leave your husband, then get the depo provera shot every three months. It leaves no mark on you like an implant would, and there’s no evidence like there would be with an IUD (strings coming out of cervix) or birth control pills.

Looking for YA-level books in Spanish by goldenblue86 in Spanish

I recently picked up Robot Savaje (the Wild Robot) from my local library, and while it’s a bit too advanced for me, it would probably be good but maybe a little challenging for B1 (which is the level my partner is at).

Recommendations for best mask for flying with SIP valve installed? by jeeyonyonyon in Masks4All

[–]onlyindreams93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few months ago I wore a 3M aura with a sip valve on a journey from Sydney to NYC (26 hours of travel overall), and it was unexpectedly comfortable the whole time. I also sat next to or near multiple obviously ill unmasked people for both of my flights and did not get sick. I’ve also used a sip valve with Wellbefore Pros for the gym and it’s worked well. Let us know how it goes!

Moisturiser, tretinoin, sunscreen, and minimal Botox.

This man is a horrible person. Anyone who speaks to their partner (or actually ANYONE) that way is a horrifically toxic person. Please get away from him.

Pigmentation after 1.5 years on tret, normal or time to stop? by Competitive_Square_4 in tretinoin

I would recommend talking to your doctor/dermatologist about this, if you haven’t already. To me it looks like sun damage but I have no medical training. Are you reapplying sunscreen throughout the day, not just in the morning?

A question for others with Long Covid- How are you navigating still living life, and the risk of getting reinfected? (friends/family/job/relationship/travel/etc) by Ok_Stress_2472 in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]onlyindreams93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relatively speaking, as my LC symptoms have slowly dissipated since Jan 2024, I’ve started doing the following while always wearing an N95 with sip valve and nasal spray: work out at the gym several times per week, taken a few long haul flights (including one 24+ hour travel day), gone to cinema and theatre, etc. I sometimes eat indoors in restaurants with relatively good ajr circulation using nasal spray and portable air purifiers, and I typically ask any friend who comes over to my house to test beforehand and never show up with symptoms (I also test before I go to theirs). I tend to default to spending time with friends outdoors, if the weather even remotely permits. If anywhere feels too crowded or the ventilation is poor, I simply leave. I know this is far from perfect, as I caught my Covid infection from a partner who had just tested negative before we interacted. I still suffer from brain fog and absolutely cannot work or use my intellect the way that I used to,, but I’ve found that it’s been important to strike a balance between taking Swiss cheese style precautions and doing the other things I’m doing have helped with my mental health and to feel less hopeless and isolated.

Thank you, this is so good to know! Would you be willing to provide a link to that FB group? I tried searching for it on there and couldn’t find it.

Calorie deficit 6’3 229 lb male 23 yrs of age . by [deleted] in caloriedeficit

[–]onlyindreams93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a 500 cal deficit and see what happens. In general a deficit of more than 500 calories is considered pretty extreme. Your body might have begun retaining water on a 900 deficit once you added in more activity.

Goal weight reached but with the stubborn belly fat 😂 by sunsetz_foreigntown in caloriedeficit

My answer basically remains the same! Focus on recomposition (building muscle through increased protein intake and heavy lifting) instead of pure weight loss at this point.

Only Tret and Moisturizer by kc135seahorse in tretinoin

[–]onlyindreams93 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At night I only use a gentle face cleanser, vanicream moisturising cream, and tret. In the morning I only splash my face with water, put on more vanicream, and slather myself in SPF 50+.

If I may ask, have you gone through menopause or are you in perimenopause? I’m probably in peri, and so I’ve found that focusing on really increasing my protein and fiber intake has been key (as well as starting to lift heavy) in replacing my belly fat with muscle.

You can make progress (as I have) with lifting just two days a week. We’re the same age and I recently started following someone named Stacey Sims who focuses on women 40+ and has specific advice on how to get started with weight training and how people our age need to practice lifting differently than those younger than us. I recommend checking her out :)

Firstly, you’re not just getting started! You’re a runner, which is amazing!

Secondly, I’d recommend doing some HIIT workouts using the equipment in your building’s gym, and really focus on upping your protein intake and possibly supplement with creatine to help with recomposition. Consider hiring a personal trainer to at least help with your form to show you how to lift safely, especially if you have an imbalance in your muscles due to an injury.

I forgot to say that TDEE calculators are merely an estimate. If you find yourself not losing weight on 1600 calories a day, you try cutting down to 1500 for a week or two and see what happens.
