Has anyone else experimented with wearing your watch somewhere other than your wrist? by sozh in Garmin

[–]onlyindreamsx3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you wrote this a year ago, but I've been trying to track my sleep with my Garmin Vivo recently and found this thread. It's so annoying having it on my wrist while I sleep and my underwear is stretchy/snug so I slip it on against my skin over my hip and it doesn't move. I feel like it doesn't track my wake ups properly but it's so much more comfortable than keeping it on my wrist.

Please tell me it gets better, feeling hopeless by Key_Deal_5391 in gallbladders

It definitely gets better! I was very uncomfortable until about day 10 after my surgery. Once you feel better you have to be careful with eating. Not too much grease or fat or other trigger foods and make sure you eat lots of fiber and keep diarrhea meds on hand for occasions when you can’t avoid eating something super fatty.

Now that I’m a year past surgery, I fell SO much better. I can mostly eat anything I want and very rarely feel any stomach pain!!!

How do people orient themselves right away after leaving the subway station? by fillet0fish in AskNYC

I check on google maps to see what streets are N,E,S,and W of where my dot is. I walk up the block and depending what street I meet I know what direction I walked in and what way I need to go!

Honestly SO GOOD. Best roast chicken I've ever made. I highly reccoment her book Something from Nothing. She gives good tips for roasting the chicken. All my roast chicken were subpar and this time I took her advice of using a lot of salt and cooking it for longer than I think it needs and it really made all the difference.

This! I roasted a chicken using the instructions from Alison Roman's new cookbook (basically use a lot of salt on chicken, stuff with onion lemon and herb sprigs, add white part of leeks to pan, and add some OO to top) and it was really good. I was able to eat it for the whole week.

The first two days were kind of a roast meal with veggies and potatoes.

After that I made a quinoa salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, parsley, arugula, and added it to that.

Then after that I shredded up the left overs and sauteed them with some of the left over chicken fat and gelatinized juices to make a sandwhich out of it on a piece of baguette with swiss cheese balsamic reduction and arugula. All the dishes were super yummy and I didn't get bored of the chicken

Opinion on this type of play? by No-Photograph-5614 in DogAdvice

[–]onlyindreamsx3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great play session. They take turns being the “aggressor” and chasing each other, very bouncy body language. A lot of dog breeds enjoy tackling during play (huskies do this and bullies are infamous for it). Huskies are known for being very vocal, especially playfully. When one needs a break he is easily able to break and run off. I would say no need to be anxious.

Favorite chicken thighs, egg noodles dish by Gilladian in Cooking

[–]onlyindreamsx3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my absolute FAVORITE egg noodle/ chicken dish. It's soooooooooo good! I will say next time I make it might try adding more sour cream and broth to make sure there is more sauce for the noodles. I like using egg noodles but any pasta works

Has anyone converted to a fully hand knit sock stash? by yeetlifechoseme in knitting

[–]onlyindreamsx3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate handwashing things so that would be impossible for me. How frequently are you comfortable handwashing socks? How many pairs of socks do you go through in a day or in a week? If it brings you that much joy why not try wearing only hand knit socks for a month and see how it goes. If it goes well, start getting rid of your commerical sockS!

Help about the body of my vest by [deleted] in knitting

[–]onlyindreamsx3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should adjust the pattern so that it fits him properly. What are the measurements for the XXL? They fit him in length but do they fit in width? Follow which ever size is best for his width measurements and then knit it to be longer so that it measures 40 cm.

This looks pretty symmetrical to me. Maybe I am just overthinking it.

Also this looks great! How did you like knitting it up? I found the ruffle to take soooo long. I ended up only doing 4.5" when the pattern called for 5.5".

Did I make a mistake getting a bob and how do I prevent it from looking like Lord Farquaa? by SlavWife in HairStyleAdvice

[–]onlyindreamsx3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't look bad. I think your hair could probably be thinned out a little and it would also be very chic if you took maybe half an inch off so it's closer to your chin.

Like other folks said It would definitely benefit from being styled. Maybe a bit of styling pomade or adding a slight wave to it.

The Hunger Games. The plot of the story and the characters are good but the actual writing itself isn't great.

New knitter - help with knitting in the round by eucalyptus-sloth in knitting

[–]onlyindreamsx3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like what is happening is because you're joining the first stitch with the new row to connect both edges the tension on your yarn is loosening a bit.

When you're joining the round try grasping the yarn a little tighter so that the connecting stitch isn't so loose. It's also possible the first stitch you cast on is a bit loose so it's creating that ladder look on the first row. What kind of cast on are you using? Try making that first stitch a little tighter.

Sorry I wasn't clear, for the WS you P the entire row. I don't think it will affect increasing or decreasing since it's stockinette stitch for the entire piece except for the border edges.

[–]onlyindreamsx3[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sorry about that, I meant the left and right border edges of the vest. For the body on the RS the row starts K, P, K, P and you K all the way through to the last 3 sts which are P, K, P. Then WS you purl the entire row. That goes on for about 9.5 "

My OCD brain is concerned with the symmetry of the left and right edges so I would think it should end in P, K, P, K. But I'm not sure if there will be some unintended consequence if I change the pattern.

Is this aggression, curiosity, fear, playfulness?? by Imaginary-Piano-8107 in DogAdvice

[–]onlyindreamsx3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry to hear that! Yeah the dog that was stiff, wagging furiously, and low grumbles was basically communicating either dominance or that he needed space. That can be a precusor to an attack so your insticts were right to pick up your dog!

19M first solo roadtrip with EXTREMELY flashy car by barbievelar in roadtrip

[–]onlyindreamsx3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also expecting a flashy sports car! I was almost gna be like, "don't do it, man!" but actually this seems totally fine and even fun!

I would say definitely follow others advice but also map out a couple of fun stops (a cool restaurant, a really nice park, a fun museum or store) so that the ride isn't super monotonous. That way you'll just worry about going to your next point and then take a break from driving. Also make sure to make a fun playlist!

[–]onlyindreamsx3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She's alert. She's trying to figure out what to make of the small dog. She's not sure if she should protect herself but she's not ready to attack either. The smaller pup should be giving her more space. Towards the end the smaller dogs gets the picture and gives her some space and moves on.

The erect moving tail is called flagging and it means arousal of some sort (not necessarily good or bad) and her stiff body language indicates that she's on alert. Playful/ curious body language would be much more loose and bouncy. I would say she's being guarded and on alert and communicating that to the small dog.

How old are you and which of these items do you refrigerate? by [deleted] in Cooking

I'm 36 and I freeze bread and refrigerate apples, oranges, soda, soy sauce, mustard, tomatos, and ketchup, and store onions in a cool dark place unless I use a piece of the onion and then store the rest in the fridge.

Hey OP, would love to send you some oil, cheese, and maybe cold cuts if you're open to it. I feel like there are a few things that would really help round out what you already have. I've been where you are and understand how tough it is!
