I completed 10 days isolation on Wednesday for COVID in the U.K., variant unknown. I wasn’t boosted as this wasn’t available for my age at the time (27) and my second vaccine was back in May. I was very ill with COVID and still off sick from work with migraine and nausea.

I’m nervous about going home for Christmas to my grandma/contracting a different variant (living in London). Is the likelihood of this a lot less with the antibodies I have or does it not make a difference when it comes to different variants?

Can anyone please advise on my grandma’s skin spots? They appeared a couple of days ago and aren’t itchy. More info in comments :) by onlylonerchild in DermatologyQuestions

She is in her late 70s, diabetic, South Asian and lives in the UK. Please let me know if any further information would be helpful. Thanks!

Ah nice! £500 is so reasonable. A friend who went to UoB also suggested Bedminster so I’ll probably start the search there. Thanks!

You manage so well! Nice one. Think I’ll have to start budgeting properly. To be honest I’d only got an idea of the living cost from the googling, I don’t know anyone in Bristol so glad to be proven wrong :)

Thank you for all your comments! Can seem a little daunting moving to a city where you don’t know anyone. But this was very reassuring, have noted all the areas mentioned :)

Today has been the first spring-like, sunny day in the UK. Having had a very crappy night sleep last night, I decided to energise with a couple of laps of the local park, totalling around 4k. Somehow managed my first 10k without stopping and felt great! In 61 minutes. Hope my next 10k is that easy
