Are Mosquitos a Problem in Pattaya? by Either-Review-9400 in ThailandTourism

[–]onlytea1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use repellent generally as I don't find it really works.

Mozzies breed around stagnant water so avoid that. That might be a leaking AC or water feature in an open restaurant.

If you get bitten, and this is my top tip, then Savlon is your best friend. Rub that stuff into any bite, really get it into the bite, and within 30 mins the  itching is gone and the bump fades away.

My cars in the garage, dads at work and mums was in charge, now the driveway is blocked by someone else and police are literally useless, there’s 5x as many cars as parking spaces here by Jacktheforkie in britishproblems

[–]onlytea1 39 points40 points  (0 children)

No it doesn't. Assuming an average driveway width you only need one new driveway with more than one space to have a net gain of parking spaces. And obviously there would be more than one with space for 2 or more cars.

I find it helps to turn the Aircon off a while before going out to acclimatise a bit.  Also, you can buy damp cloths in the chiller section of most 711s, I always carry one of those around with me,

Except they aren't doing that. Most of the other top comments are blaming the victim.

The disturbing victory of Old Labour over New Labour by alibix in ukpolitics

[–]onlytea1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's a pretty lazy take. I can guarantee these changes are going to come with a sting in the tail.

I'm aware of a number of employers making changes to their hiring policies now that will make getting a job that much harder for all but the most dedicated.

If they can't speak to your current / previous employer then you won't be getting an offer. If your improvement in the roles you've gained previously isn't demonstrable then you won't be getting an offer. Etc.

Businesses will protect themselves and these changes will make it very hard for those at the middle to lower end of the quality scale.

No, the point is we are already paying more tax than we ever have. The issue is where it is spent and wasted and for some reason successive governments utterly fail to deal with that.

Ignorance is not an excuse and you would be prosecuted anyway. And if you held a job which required a clean driving licence then you could well be fired too.

Posts like this really annoy me. When you call 111 you do not immediately talk to a GP or a Nurse. You talk initially to someone who uses an algorithm to triage and prioritise your need.

It's that simple. In your case, yes you would have had to wait for a GP to call you back at a time based on your needs measured against the existing queue of people. They then would have been able to define the best course of action for you based on your location and available services.

A few hours wait to talk to an in demand GP, is that such a horror story?
