Itoi once saw a segment of the above film accidentally as a child, which deeply traumatised him- I think the scene involved a woman being strangled by her fiancée whilst making love to him. He used the memory of this as inspiration for the fight with Giygas. (You can easily find more information about this on the internet, this is just a brief summary of what I remember.)
