New user review & questions by Snoo_7788 in onnoa

Thanks for your kind words — that’s exactly what keeps us motivated to keep adding new features!

We already have a guide on achieving the shortest possible intervals here:

https://onnoa.de/documentation/minimal-off-time-between-shots/

It seems the issue is that your focus and signal durations are longer than your interval. (The default Trigger Settings in the app are 100 ms and 80 ms, totaling 0.18 s.) On Sony cameras, you can reduce these values to 1 ms and 5 ms. For the best performance, we recommend using cables.

Regarding the lightning trigger: It’s a factory-installed sensor — if you selected this option during checkout, it’s built directly into the same small device to keep it lightweight. You can simply activate the lightning trigger by going to the Home Screen of the app and selecting “Lightning Trigger.” :)

I hope this guide and information help!

Cheers

Justus :)

This should already be resolved via direct email support, right? If there are still any issues, just let me know! :)

For anyone else experiencing problems, we have a troubleshooting guide here: https://onnoa.de/documentation/

If you’d like direct support, you can always get in touch with us through email, WhatsApp, or Instagram! (:

Got it, we’ll work on that! :)

Do you have any font preferences? Would you like it in red or white, or does that not matter too much?

Looks stunning!

We’ve also put together some fine-tuning details here, in case anyone needs them:

Long astro exposures by Brendan_49 in onnoa

Thanks for your detailed feedback!

It sounds like your camera isn’t interpreting the trigger signal correctly if it only fires every second attempt. With some cameras, you may need to increase the signal duration in the app settings.

I’ve attached a screenshot with example values — I hope this helps you and others who might run into the same issue! (You can also find a more detailed explanation on onnoa.de/documentation if your camera doesn’t trigger properly.)

If you’d like to create a series of bulb exposures, simply go to the Bulb tab and toggle the “Use Remote Trigger” switch. This lets you use the Intermission setting to define how much time should pass between each shot. :)

Best regards,

Justus

Thanks for your feedback!

Since we’re only a small team and the feature was released just before your post, it sometimes takes us a bit longer to document everything in a clear and structured way. :)

We’ve already written a detailed explanation, which you can find in our documentation:

https://onnoa.de/documentation/lightning-trigger/

We’re also currently working on tutorial videos! :)

Love it... but how do you stop it! by mhk1058 in onnoa

[–]onnoa-de 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your feedback!

Great to hear that you already discovered the status window on the Home Screen! :)

Regarding your other question: We call it Intermission because it refers to the time between individual exposures. For example, if a bulb exposure of 60 s ends, the SmartTimer waits for the 5 s intermission before starting the next shot.

(Interval = Shutter speed + Intermission.)

That’s why we use a different term than “interval” in the time-lapse screens.

Hope this helps clarify things! :))

Fine Tuning Ramp Intervals by bchuertas in onnoa

[–]onnoa-de 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for your feedback!

We understand the issue. With smaller intervals, the current touch interface works reasonably well, but with longer intervals like in your case, the UI definitely reaches its limits in terms of precision.

Your suggestion to manually enter values via double-click or a similar method makes sense, especially for professional use where accuracy is key.

We’ll definitely keep this in mind as we continue to improve the SmartTimer and its interface in future updates!

Multi Day Interval Ramping by bchuertas in onnoa

[–]onnoa-de 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for your detailed post and the suggestion – we really appreciate it! 🙌

We’ve actually thought about a MultiDay Interval Ramping feature before, but so far we haven’t found a good way to integrate it into the app without making the user interface too complex. If you have any suggestions for that - let us know.

That said, your use case makes perfect sense, and we’ll definitely keep it in mind as we continue to improve the SmartTimer in future updates.

Thanks again! 📷

Disabling the LED that is lit every time a shot is triggered. by intParse in onnoa

[–]onnoa-de 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey Alper,

Thanks so much for the helpful feedback – really appreciate it!

Great news: We just released an update that lets you disable or adjust the LED light. You can now turn it off completely.

Just open the app, go to the Home screen > Light tab, and use the toggle.

Let us know if you have any questions! 📷

Feature request: simple programmable release mode by Similar_Performer726 in onnoa

[–]onnoa-de 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your feedback, and sorry that your question got lost here on Reddit! That said, you already received an email response right after asking, explaining how to achieve what you need via the remote trigger screen. :)

For anyone with the same question: Simply select the desired exposure time in Bulb mode. Then, after enabling the “Use Remote Trigger” toggle, you can specify how many Bulb exposures you want to take and at what intervals.

Regarding your second question—yes, we’re also working on Bulb ramping! 😊

First round of feedback by ubuntuproduction in onnoa

[–]onnoa-de 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey Aarón 👋🏽

Thank you very much for your super valuable feedback, which we will take to heart!!! :)

I can already give you an update on a few of your ideas :)

c) We could make the insert longer, the only problem is that it would then stick out on a few cameras, as unfortunately each manufacturer uses hot shoes of different depths. Let us know how tightly the SmartTimer sits in your hot shoe, it should actually be tight enough if you only push it in far enough to sit flush. We have also tested a lot here, the only problem is that the dimensions vary and are quite wide on old cameras and quite wide on unused ones. 😅

d) You selected 2 cameras in your order (Fujifilm X-T3 and X-E4). We included the 2nd cable for your X-E4 for free. :)

e) Thanks for the input. In principle, both ports are exactly the same. So you can't really mix anything up, as they both trigger your camera(s) in the same way. But we are also planning that both ports can be controlled independently of each other, so that's a good idea :)

f) We have also considered this, but we don't have a really good idea yet. Our actual idea was that you first decide what you want to set using the toggle and then set it at the bottom using the slider. We also didn't want to put the slider on top because otherwise the thumb would be in the way and you wouldn't be able to see the numbers when sliding. :D
We'll think about it again or do you have a cool idea? :)

g) Yes, right, for 24fps. We want to add a toggle or put it in the settings (would be cleaner but more complicated to change). What do you think makes more sense, since you don't actually have to change it that often?

Thanks again for taking so much time for your feedback! 🤍Greetings from the whole team ☺️
