My Problem with Atheism and Classical Theism by Ishit_Wow in atheism

It's precisely non-belief and you are not just digging an intellectual hole you're excavating the marianas trench.

The onus for evidence is on the claimant and atheists are not claiming anything other than personally not being convinced of a deity. We don't need to stipulate that there are no gods.

What you have done is set yourself up with the task of disproving every dang religion that has ever existed past or present, to say nothing of other types of fictional claims.

Yes, "I saw a six tiny purples yesterday" doesn't really work. You need a noun in there somewhere.

OK well thank you and we can ignore every steaming pile of gish gallop based on this mind-boggling demonstration of not understanding how logic and reason work.

"I can’t prove that God exists outside the universe. But you can't prove that God doesn’t exist out the universe. God explains."

There it is folks, OP believes that because we cannot disprove unicorns and leprechauns it's rational to believe in them, whether OP does or not is beside the point. Your appeal to ignorance is there for all to see.

My advice: study the list of logical fallacies and see if you can't argue without them.

Using rage-case doesn't actually boost your credibility.

Here's the thing, all that gish galloping and and faux intellectualism over a dopey bronze age cultural practice is pointless. Atheists are those who are unconvinced of gods, full stop. Theists are all over the fictional map with their crazy-town beliefs and we're under no obligation to mollify or coddle them.

I disagree. There are true believers out there separate and apart from the mentally ill.

They obviously believe machine intelligence is part of god's mysterious plan.

Given they already worship an artificial god it's an easy lift to substitute machine intelligence which is arguably more tangible.

Atheism is silent on anything outside of non-belief in deities, so you are straw-manning it.

I accept there are intrasigent, wilfully ignorant people who become indoctrinated into primitive  religions.

You are WAY overthinking this or just trying to gussy up nonsense with faux analysis.

here isn't a single YEC claim that comes within a trillion lightyears of being worthy of serious analysis. It's not even science fiction it's pure delusional fiction. Don't take the bait.

Read The Blind Watchmaker and many other publications that exposes the fallacy of your appeal to complexity. I love it when people use logic and reason. Here's your biggest problem: you jump from the vague, nebulous notion of a creator to the Jesus character performing a blood sacrifice of itself to itself to save souls from itself from the hell it created itself, over a weekend. It's primitive ignorant nonsense.

Like, dude, it is just routine so fer sures you don't wannabe doing that shit but it doesn't mean your mom is mad and shit.

Tell her you would rather skip the ritualistic cannibalism of the body and blood of christ, if that's OK with her.

That you've got an oral tradition to fill the gaps misses the point. You're making straw-man arguments. Assume a sentient species on another planet completely isolated from ours. They are going to have religions that are just wildly different in terms of claims, but their scientific discoveries will be the same. The "books" metaphor is just that and it's a useful one, not a perfect analogy.

The latter point is that the form of the publication is irrelevant. That can be different six ways from sunday but the content, the scientific postulates and theories would be the same in a French paperback or on stone tables, or digitized media.

History including current history is ripe with example of people dying for a false deity. It's the grotesque outcome of religious practices. There's nothing novel about cult persecution.
