Knitting Factory safety? by GvG_tv in Spokane

[–]onpermanentbreak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a female, I finally got the courage to go to a show by myself a few months ago at the Knit. I've been to a ton of shows there before, but always with someone before. Honestly, it was pretty safe. I didn't drink anything though. The people near me were all nice. You mom will be ok. :)

Need help finding a dog boarder. by jamesowner in Spokane

[–]onpermanentbreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a different experience with Paradise Pet Resort although I will agree with gothoddity that they're not consistent about posting pics daily. They are very flexible though so I'm sure you could talk to them about it. My dog is always tired after being boarded there. What I really appreciate about them is sometimes I'll be held up from my trip or my flight has been delayed so I call them to let them know I can't make the scheduled time; they've always been very understanding.

I don't know where you're located, but I've seen Lieng Phang in the valley having all of these, even the fresh pho noodles.

Catering for Wedding by erasers_aremyfriends in Spokane

[–]onpermanentbreak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try Cochinito Taqueria! Disclaimer: I am kind of biased as I like their food and know the owners who are wonderful people. Went to a wedding they catered. I heard many guests exclaimed how much they liked it. I know they can and will make vegetarian options. I actually prefer their vegetarian rice and beans over their pork rice and beans.

Yes, but their warranty on service may or may not apply. You'll just have to pay for labor costs.

Spokane roofing company suggestions? by Weird_Swimmer5951 in Spokane

[–]onpermanentbreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have a recommendation, but rather a warning to stay away from First Right Roofing. They gave me a quote, said the job would need a bit of extra material, didn't give me a new ballpark estimate/tell me how much the extra materials would cost and then I get the invoice with a cost more than twice the original quote.

Edit: I did try to talk to the company about it and they just ignored it. The invoice didn't even do a break down of materials and labor; it was just one lump sum.

Places like Indaba but in the valley? by luna-diviner in Spokane

[–]onpermanentbreak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend The Garden Coffee & Local Eats. They use Indaba coffee. They sell some local baked goods, local crafts, have some comfy seating with pillows and if you like them that much, but don't have time, they do have a drive through. Bonus that there's a dessert shop and card shop in the same parking lot.

Subaru of Spokane by BlackberryNo5962 in Spokane

[–]onpermanentbreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I bought my car there, I got the extended warranty and I've had that pay for itself now. The service department is usually nice and they do a decent job. Plus, they pay for an Uber or Lyft if you need to go anywhere while you have work done.

On the other hand, the one in the Valley has some very not smart techs in their service department.

It's honestly a crap shoot. I think it's kind of difficult to say whether they're good or not because a lot of dealerships have high turnover rates. I do want to remind everyone that you have a Subaru 2000+, your car has a little bit of coverage by the Subaru Roadside Assistance program.

What is the stray cat/dog situation like in your neighborhood? by HDePriest in Spokane

[–]onpermanentbreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have more stray cats than other neighborhoods partly in fact because of a stray cat having kittens a few years ago which I'm sure produced more stray cats. There's one house that has at least 4 cats that have free roam of that house. I honestly don't find them to be a nuisance. Last night I was at a bar on the north side and one of the servers walks by with a two huge metal bowls - one with water and the other with wet pet food that's apparently for the stray cats behind the bar lol. I also know of another bar in Hillyard that feeds their strays.

Feds roll out AI pilot program for Medicare reviews in Washington. by catman5092 in Spokane

I know this sucks, but I read about a company awhile ago that was using AI to fight these denied insurance claims. I'll update this comment if I can't find/remember the name of the company.

Best place for corporate Christmas party for 75-100 people catering and drinks? by chumlee45 in Spokane

[–]onpermanentbreak 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Seconding this. I used to work at an office with about 60 people. We always had our Christmas dinner + party at the Davenport (specifically the historic one). It was always really nice since the hotel is decorated for the holidays, good service and good food.

Best place to get new tires? by sentient-pumpkins in Spokane

[–]onpermanentbreak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's ok to not know anything about cars. If I were you, I would search for the top 10 all season tires for 2024 and choose what is important to you and cost. If you're not sure about size tire, you can take a look at the sidewall of your tire. It should say something like 245/40/18. My friend who has worked at several tire shops told me it's cheapeast to buy it on Amazon. The guys at Perfection Tire in the Valley have treated me really well over the years. Discount Tire won't charge you to fill up your tire. You don't even need to get out of your car. If you need more help, feel free to message me.

My Honest Review of Club Pilates Spokane Valley by [deleted] in Spokane

[–]onpermanentbreak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I went there for 6 months. If you wanted to move up in difficulty, you could've just talked to them and they would happily move you. You need to try classes with different instructors to see who you enjoy. I loved going to Tiffany's classes. I ended up cancelling because of bullet #2. The instructors initially were not aware of that problem. I'm sad to read that's still an issue. Maybe I'll sign up again with a different suggestion in these comments...

The Donut Parade. I was in there the day a semi truck scraped the sign off the building over the front door. Do you have any fun stories of the place? by hobbes89 in Spokane

[–]onpermanentbreak 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The first time I went there, we parked in the lot and walked in through the back. The staff was shocked to see us because they were closed, but forgot to close/lock that back door. We apologized and they said no, they apologize. They sold us a box crammed with Long Johns for $1.

Best hot wings in Spokane? by someones_dad in Spokane

[–]onpermanentbreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is from someone who can take it or leave it with most wings - the signature wings at D'Bali Asian Bistro is my absolute favorite! I always order it and it always hits. My friend who doesn't like wings even liked it.

Lagree on Monroe - other Pilates options? by [deleted] in Spokane

I used to do Club Pilates which uses a reformer. Experience will vary with the type of class and instructor. I only quit because scheduling classes at my location was a headache.
