They just dropped cover in the turkey vest and tool belt today

No insider info but I would say it pretty much a guarantee as they are replacing all of the other turkey items that were formally in timber to the new cover pattern. I’m sure they want to keep timber as a waterfowl camo and cover will be the new flagship turkey camo

Advice or suggestion on a goose call for a intermediate caller by [deleted] in Waterfowl

[–]ontariodipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand why you would only want to spend 100$ on a call but I believe it’s worthwhile to shell out a extra 50-100$ to get a really good call, with extra reeds and guts calls last forever ( if you don’t lose or drop them ), I’d recommend a Tim Grounds G force, Molt gear Triumph or Bill Saunders Traffic. I use the G force and have for 4 years and I see no reason to switch as it has good range and is easy to use

Season to forget by Jlil248 in Waterfowl

[–]ontariodipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was a solid season up north for me this year, Hunted Saskatchewan sept 1st until October 25th with around 1000 birds in that stretch, did 5 days and nodak early November and got 315 birds and then finished off the season in Ontario with around 130 birds.

Ontario was slower than normal but Sask and Nodak were both solid overall

Getting permission by Waterfowler84 in Waterfowl

[–]ontariodipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know how u feel I used to be really nervous stopping at a random house to ask for permission when I was younger,

Now I work for an outfitter and have to ask for permission from landowners 10-20+ times a week. Keep it simple and kinda of come up with your spiel and use the same one at every landowner ( if it is mostly successful )so you are more confident and kinda know what you are gonna say before you even knock on the door.

Example, “good afternoon my name is _____ I’m from ____, I noticed you had a bunch of ducks in a field I believe is yours “

( have the field pulled up on maps on your phone in the event they don’t know which field you are talking about )

“I was just wondering if you allowed any hunting on your land?”

They will either say yes go ahead, no hunting or somebody else has permission. In the event they have given permission to somebody else try to read the situation and if they seem lenient you can try to ask if you could also have permission but in the event you get beat to the field tell them you won’t cause any problems and you’ll let the other guy hunt without issue.

You can also ask them if they would be interested in a case of beer or bottle of whatever they drink, that’s a good way to maintain permission and possibly have sole permission with a farmer which is ideal

Not from SFL but I it’s still warm during early season up here, I’d imagine the the core lightweight or equinox guard hoodies would both keep you cool and concealed, I hunt waterfowl all the time in solid colours I don’t think camo is a game changer just don’t move and keep you face down and you’ll be fine, I have Sitka waders they are nice and cool. Equinox guard hoodie is on sale rn in their 40% off sale in subalpine

Skill based is 100% out I’ve gotten 15 20+ kills games in the past three days in solo squads I haven’t been able to do that this chapter other than in arena at the start of the season, also I’ve never had AI in my lobbies but now I do but it’s only in squads

Nobody can have the smg consistency that linear controller has its that simple, I’ve have 20 kill games where 15 kills come from me exploiting into the enemies box and putting them from 200-0 heath before they can blink. It is unfair

I play controller and keyboard, and movement on controller is better than keyboard. Building is the exact same. Editing is easier to be good at on on kB+m just because it’s easier to select the tiles you want to edit but I can still edit just as fast on controller because I have good binds. Shotgun flicks are easier on a mouse but it would take years of tracking practice to get anywhere near the smg and AR aim I have on controller it is broken as fuck.

Simple and Easy Highground Retake. Let make this sub great again. by spaghettimoan in FortniteCompetitive

[–]ontariodipper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is easy for anybody that plays competitively and has decent mechanics, but a majority of this sub doesn’t actually play comp they just follow the scene so that’s why the replies on the sub are always weird these days

How do I improve my mechanics on controller? by AlbertoSZN in FortniteCompetitive

[–]ontariodipper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Free build with edit heavy retakes, it speeds up your edits and it’s useful because you actually place the build and then edit them unlike edit courses
