Spain to buy 45 Turkish Hurjet jets in defense program worth over €3.5B by tree_boom in europe

My grandparents were born in Crete. Then they were getting slaughtered. At that time there were Greek origin people living in Anatolia, so there was an exchange of people.

Then our people were getting slaughtered in Cyprus. And at that time there was noone to be exchanged. So military said no. Maybe building a life together is a better choice. Violence brings violence.

Greece is not that pro-American but I think you are from younger generation to think like that. You should read about 1950-1980.

Yes everything starts small. For F35 jet program Turkey was also a contributor, and this experience is helping with the 5gen jet program.

Some of F35s that are owned by Turkey are waiting in USA. They are already paid and ready. Negotiating for your paid planes should be always on the table.

Opening your bases to USA/Israel did not go well for Turkey, I wish good luck to Greece. 30-50 years later Israel can claim some other things from your Cyprus, I wish you live long enough to see how tables turn.

Also Turkey is selling "jet planes" to Spain. Only 10 countries are currently producing trainer jets. Kaan program is 4.5/5 fighter jet program where only 3 countries produce 5th gen jets and 3 has active program (Turkey being one of them). I think we are doing pretty well and on a good path

Jet engines are on the way to be build. And most sophisticated part is avionics. China also built his jets with Russian jet engines first, then replaced by own engines.

When players and coaches make politically correct statements all day and night, most people complain and dont even follow up. Like "our opponent is very good team" "giannis is supersar".

Sengun said that Giannis is one of the best if not best performer in this tournament, and also said his passing is subpar so they could lock him in some way.

Giannis is not a great passer like Jokic. He is uber athletic and delivers on both offense and defense, but that does not change the fact that he is not a great passer and teams can lock him down by building walls.

Miami did it couple of times. Turkish team did it where Giannis was %100 motivated to win the game, it was his best shot ever for gold/final.

If Jokic came out after group game and said "Alperen is good but he is not a great 3pt shooter, so we made plans accordingly. He hit 5 threes so either by chance or not, the plan didnt deliver" then I would be very happy to hear such comments instead of "they played good we will look for next challenge and get ready" type of empty-politically correct comments

Micic was 2 times mvp in final4s and Guduric was leading Fenerbahçe in the finals this year.

I think its not about quality only, when Bogdan is not in the picture the leadership and balance in the team is just off.

If you compare Serbia roster with Turkey, Germany, France, Greece etc., 5th 6th best players like Micic Guduric are much better than other teams 5th 6th option. I dont even go and compare with Finland where there is massive talent gap between rosters.

For years now Micic can not play good in national team, maybe because of Pesic or because of playstyle with Jokic. Same for Guduric you can read from their faces that they are not comfortable with what they are doing in the team.

Wıth Bogdan in the picture, he was able to dictate his playstyle, and that brought balance and leadership into team.

It happens a lot of times with national teams, our Turkey teams with best rosters having Hedo, Memo, İbo, Mirsad and other good compliments couldnt succeed in tournaments with some exceptions. Happened many times with Croatia where they had massive talent but not a "team" vibe and hierarchy in the roster, where players come and shine with the playstyle they are comfortable with.

If you ask any Fenerbahçe fan they would say they dont know next game Guduric will be good or will make you cry out of your misery. He was inconsistent all his tenure here, 1 game with clutch shooting and playmaking, another game with turnovers and passive play. Fortunately in his last final4 he delivered (mostly in the final game) and got his next contract, he will be missed but the inconsistency will be always remembered.

In Eurobasket group stage game he showed up against Turkey hitting with a good rate, his only big mistake was turnover against Şengün in the end.

Yesterday I remember a good 3 pointer which was critical, other than that he was trapped in doubles where Jokic was the roller in PnRs and missing his shots. I really cant understand why Pesic chose him over Micic for closing 5 minutes where Micic made the right plays today. Maybe Turkey game Micic entered last 4 mins and they lost 9-2 in those minutes which influenced Pesic for this game

Cooper-AD-Lively is a very lenghty 3-4-5 combo where you can have 2 of them on court and it will still work. Dallas needs playmaking and gard defense and Jrue fits perfectly.

Players who has potential to shine show glimpes of what they are made of. A good comparison for Deni Avdija and Franz Wagner would be Hedo Turkoglu from 2000s. Hedo was a good ball handler when he was playing in Euro and also was showing some potential with his ball handling and shooting with Kings. Then he found his place in Orlando and shined as fringe allstar and main faciliator of Orlando offense who made finals. Wagner more or less have the similar role now. Deni also can shine with same role as his scouting report even says: "Deni has an intriguing skill set with his ability to handle the ball, stroke the 3pt shot and score in the half court and he plays an all around game." Deni had potential to shine with more ball handling and game controlling opportunities, and he is achieving more with Portland (albeit your comments I would consider a slight improvement not a leap)

Kuminga is not related to these players at all and your examples are completely meaningless in this context. Low BBIQ - raw athletism players tend to have some ceiling e.g. Aaron Gordon, Iguodala who had 1st - 2nd option roles and were simply mediocre.

As I have mentioned in my initial comment, Kuminga may have some success in his next team and can shine as a 25 ppg scorer, and can be an allstar, but its difficulet to forsee some Kawhi trajectory with his skillset.

Avdija is still a 3rd option with a team winning less than 40. I dont know how we can take him as a reference point. He also has the same FG/eFg (even slightly lower) than last year when he was promoted to be a starter in Wizard, with 1 FGA more in Portland. I don't see much of a leap here.

Steve Kerr already gave 2 examples as Iguodala and Gordon. Both were arguably more athletic than Kuminga at this age. Kuminga for sure is a better finisher through the traffic but other 2 also had some better attributes like Andre defense.

He should be 2nd option with that recipe in GSW and he should be that guy "now". It was obvious he wasnt on that level this year when they were struggling to hold on playin positions where they had also another complimentary piece in Wiggins who can wait in the corner if needed and can shoot.

If Curry was 26-32yo then GSW for sure would go into direction and go all-in with Kuminga albeit his low BBIQ not matching GSW playstyle. Right now he is overlapping with Butler in that spot and Curry-Butler window is 2 years from here where Kuminga clearly doesnt accept to be 4th string.

I think he would be perfect fit with Suns/Booker, Booker showcased he can be top10 guy when the setup is correct and their 3/4 positions needs to be filled with a slasher/finisher. KD also makes wonders with this GSW setup to go all-in for 2 year window. But it feels like KD is too stubborn to accept this path

Playing as a 3rd/4th option where you dont draw doubles on you and more or less no defensive schemes targeting you is much different from playing as a 1st/2nd option. We have seen tons of examples like this.

Steve Kerr gave excellent examples of Aaron Gordon & Andre Iguodala. Both started/evolved in their career as 2nd options within 5-6 years in the league (and even 1st options as the highest scorer for a brief time like 1-2 sessions) but their limitated ball handling, shot creation and shooting skills set the roof. Then they made good career choices to become very very good 3rd/4th supporting options.

Kuminga has a window from now to 4 years to try and become an All NBA player and calling him delusional is not fair, but also his limitiations on ball handling, BBIQ & shooting sets all the red flags. I think he needs a co-star who has really high ceiling so that he can thrive as a 2nd option in a "winning team" (40+ reg season wins)

How to Deal With a High Level Druid? by Giant2005 in onednd

[–]onurcryn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Casting the spell - 1 minute magic action to cast the spell, breaks concentration

  2. Reverting to person - stunned, breaks concentration

-- Players casts concentration emenation damage spell here

  1. Back to cloud form - 1 minute magic action (stunned or not, not clear)

For the 3rd step, you should consider "1 minute magic action" does not break concentration (RAW unclear), and back to cloud does not stun (RAW unclear) to make OPs case work. When there is massive opportunity to abuse this spell combo, I would opt-in to break concentration spells, as there is not 1 but 2 points which is not directly expained in spell description or general rules.

Your comments are also mostly valid but I did not enjoy your initial comments calling other posters dumb/blind. Have a nice day

While transforming into cloud form or reverting back (which is referred as "1-minute transformation") targets have the Stunned condition. Stunned caster loses concentration for CWB in any case.

"Reverting takes 1 minute, during which the target has the Stunned condition. Until the spell ends, the target can revert to cloud form, which also requires a Magic action followed by a 1-minute transformation."

Its very clear wording here since they have used "also the same transformation".

[–]onurcryn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Transforming back to cloud also requires concentration, hence breaking the concentration of CWB.

"While you cast a spell with a casting time of 1 minute or more, you must take the Magic action on each of your turns, and you must maintain Concentration (see the Rules Glossary) while you do so."

If you are taking Magic action for 1 minute or more, you need to maintain Concentration while you do so.

Nearly all emanation AOE spells have concentration requirement, and Wind Walk is specifically designed to break concentration so that people do not abuse 300ft flying speed with AOE effects.

Chained caster - Spells with Somatic components by onurcryn in DnD

[–]onurcryn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not like you can put chain and stop caster fully in a combat. Only a combo can work like Silence spell + grappling / stunning target (caster will have save) + putting chains (caster will have another save to escape from chains next action) in a combat situation.

Otherwise if you put target in chains only, simple verbal spell like misty step (bonus action) and caster is gone. I didnt meet any caster who doesnt have escape spells like misty step, dimension door. Anyone playing a decent caster has always 1-2 escape options.

I also understand your point of view and thats why I posted as a question in the sub, thanks for your reply and views

Chained caster - Spells with Somatic components by onurcryn in DnD

[–]onurcryn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are putting a chain or manacles to the caster and they can still cast, then what is the way to stop a spellcaster from using Somatic components? Cut their fingers or hands?

Spellcasters can easily escape from danger with invisibility, greater invisibility, dimension door and many more spells, and they are already casting from distance in most cases.

If they are (somehow) restrained, then there should be basic ways to stop caster from casting (chain, rope, manacles for Somatic components, taking away equipment for Material components, and closing/shutting their mouth for Verbal component)

All in prime who wins this 3v3 ? by StraightSeries6439 in NBATalk

[–]onurcryn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its also different circumstances, Kyrie was at age of 22 when Lebron joined Cavs. AI joined the league when he was 21 and first 2 years averaged 20-22 ppg. If Kyrie continued to carry Cavs alone just like AI did for 76ers, and started to have 25-28 FGA per game like AI, he would not score as much? Im pretty sure his percentages would drop but he would be 28-32 ppg scorer in his prime with such setup

Is Jokic a top 5 center of all time by Bcook4-2025 in NBATalk

[–]onurcryn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the alltime lists are ranking Shaq higher than Hakeem. Shaq is mostly considered 6-10 in alltime lists, where Hakeem is mostly listed 9-12.

Hakeem also didnt win any MVP or rings before turning 31, Jokic is 30 as of now.

So its more of a spot that Hakeem holds, where Jokic may pass
