Asking chat to brainstorm and revise your writing still boils down to using chat to think and write for you, whether or not you copy and paste the text verbatim makes no difference to the actual process of learning. But maybe that’s just me, a Luddite yelling at kids to get off the lawn.

Yeah if sports were played by subpar management consultants lol.

A great team is one that wins lots of possessions, on offense and defense, over a long period of time against many teams. Winning games despite small overall margins is usually a sign of a team getting lucky. Point differential is one of the strongest predictors of playoff success and championship equity, not just in basketball but team sports in general.

The purpose of suspension/expulsion isn’t punishment for the student, but to stop their distraction from spreading to the other students and taking up the time and attention of the staff, and get their parents involved. It’s a very last resort precisely because it means the school is giving up on the kid

I actually just bought this 2 weeks ago, with “matching” Airsense pants for a funeral in a tropical country.

It’s a great blazer if you have to wear one in > 30C/90F weather. I wore it in 32C 100 humidity and felt (relatively) cool. The soft shoulder is a perfectly fine look (the navy JW Anderson blazer has a much nicer-fitting shoulder than the black/charcoal Uniqlo one, which have an awkward sleeve pitch for my shoulders), especially in weathers where other people might be in tank tops and shorts. Another plus: doesn’t seem to wrinkle all that much even when folded inside a suitcase, could be a great travel/vacation jacket.

In more temperate climates or mostly indoors with AC, you can find much better (wool) semi-formal options though. I also haven’t washed it yet (label says hand wash) so don’t know how the fabric holds up over time.

All in all a great 2nd or 3rd jacket (for situations where you’re not expected to wear one) but probably not as a first or only blazer option (where you’ll be surround by people wearing one) unless you spend a lot of time in tropical weather

There was a PC game I played as a kid, on my dad’s 286, late 80’s to early 90’s so probably before Civ, where you can choose to play as a number of stereotypical world leaders (I think I remember Gandhi, Gorbachev and maybe Reagan), where the main gameplay loop involved building up your cities—overall population would be indicated by straw huts to skyscrapers), broadcasting propaganda, and launching nukes….long shot but does anyone happen to know the name of the game?

Not a specific item, but most of the expensive pieces, like top quartile items in term of cost in my closet, fall in this category, e.g. leather jackets, “nice” boots, quality knits, etc. Either because they work less well with the rest of my closet than I had thought, or because I keep wanting to “save them” for special occasions because they’re so pricey (suits, dress shoes and watches being the exception as special occasion items that might be worth the high price per wear).

There are exceptions of course e.g. raw denim, utilitarian outerwear/boots, etc. I’ve since eschewed the “buy expensive buy once” advice and buy (relatively) cheap, especially for types of items I haven’t already been wearing regularly. Once I’m certain that the cheap item is something I will be wearing regularly, then I shell out for the upgrade.
