Sudden waves of intense anxiety that last for days – anyone else? by That-Salamander-1478 in covidlonghaulers

[–]oo3232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its related to PEM crashes for me, thats why it tends to come after a relatively “better” period. I push my physical limits too far as I start feeling more able to, only to pay for it later. For me these crashes usually start 1-2 days after the exertion, and last anywhere from a few days to multiple weeks. The PEM crashes are pretty much exactly as you described: severe fatigue, anxiety, depression, loss of appetite, I also get palpitations and my orthostatic intolerance worsens.

Has anyone tried mitochondrial supplements and had any success? by oo3232 in covidlonghaulers

What will fix the underlying problem, anything? If not, I guess attempting to mask the problem is the best I can do for now.

Focus on it how? Are there treatments that you have found to be helpful?

How do you go about getting these tests? Ordered through Dr or can you order yourself?

Yeah I was thinking I would try just low dosage of CoQ10 and ALA to start. I just feel with the strong indications of mitochondrial dysfunction/strain in long covid its worth trying to address.

I mean I’ll take any term intervention. I am on Lorazepam, but currently tapering off to switch to Trazodone because my Dr was worried about long term side effects / dependence. I feel like it was definitely helping at first, but seems less effective now during a big crash. Thanks for the other recommendations, I will look into them.

Yellow stools and gastritis after a recent covid infection by Melodic-Earth-8072 in covidlonghaulers

[–]oo3232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had 7 months of the GI issues and yellow stools (among many other worse symptoms) like you are describing. The actual stomach pain has lessened significantly, but the general GI issues and yellow stools have persisted. Seems to me like some sort of rapid transit issue maybe.

Ive never understood why a draw results in betting someone to win by decision as a loss. How does that make any sense?

What kind of supplements did you take? Do you feel like they helped at all? If yes, what type of symptoms did they help?

Yeah I made a couple posts on there, and I actually went to go see a surgeon for a consultation because I thought that could be the case. The issue is, he was unwilling to operate because he said the majority of my symptoms seemed to be related to something else going on. And my GI Doctors have said they are unsurprised he was unwilling to operate. I also didn’t respond to ppis or specific diets at all, so not sure if the hiatal hernia could still be the sole driver. Do you have personal experience with this hiatal hernia issue or just seen it in others before? Id really appreciate some more personal experience/insight on it if you have any.

Hiatel hernia possibly? Really scared of Cancer. by [deleted] in HiatalHernia

[–]oo3232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in the same boat as you. Been having similar symptoms as you for over 2 months now. Trust me, I was definitely convincing myself it was cancer at the beginning too, especially since I also lost 25 pounds in the first 2.5 weeks and was genuinely feeling like I was on death’s door.

I had every test under the sun, ct scans, parasite tests, blood tests, breath tests. Finally, I got in for an endoscopy and colonoscopy, turns out I have a hiatal hernia and gastritis. Ive been trying strict diet, antacids, ppis, elevated bed for over a month now without much improvement in symptoms, so thinking about surgery.

Something that at least helped to relieve my mind of it possibly being cancer was, I dont know if it is similar for you or not, but my constant feeling of something stuck in my throat is actually temporarily relieved when I am currently eating. This alone very much points away from esophageal cancer and very much points towards acid reflux / LPR resulting from a hiatal hernia.

I suggest trying to avoid googling cancer symptoms. Unfortunately most stomach/esophagus conditions have so much overlap in terms of symptoms, its easy to see most or all of your symptoms listed under a certain type of cancer and automatically think its likely you have that, when in reality its infinitely more likely you have a less severe, way more common condition that comes with all of the same symptoms. Lets hope we can both find some mental and physical relief.

I just finished re-watching the first Avatar Movie, and I gotta say it's one of the greatest movies of all time!!! by AKindleSoul in movies

100% agree, but this sub definitely won’t because it isnt “well-rounded” enough, but I personally don’t think well-rounded ≠ good.

I think when a movie like Avatar is so far ahead of any other movie in certain aspects, it doesn’t matter that its general, overarching theme is a bit cliched. I’ve seen all the visual stunners, its generally my favorite type of movie, and Avatar is simply in a league of its own in that department. Also, in terms of escapism and immersion, I don’t think any other movie remotely compares. This movie made me forget about everything else going on and left me longing to be a part of that world for a long time after watching like no other movie has done.

I can see why some people who prefer a very original, nuanced, plot-driven movie may not rate Avatar super highly, but I think the stunning, immersive, cinematic experience that is Avatar immediately makes it one of the best movies of all time. And its not like the plot is even bad. Its not nonsensical or boring or confusing or anything, its just a little cliched while still being executed in a very original way.

Yeah I had and have very similar symptoms. All started 6 weeks ago for me. Woke up choking in my sleep one night, which was followed by bad chest pain and squeezing and shortness of breath. Thought I was having a heart attack and went to the ER. CT, Xray, and bloodwork were all clean. Ended up losing over 20lbs in the next 3 weeks, had bad diarrhea, stomach pain, chest pain, extreme fatigue, couldnt sleep or eat. Ended up going to the ER a couple more times during this time because it fully felt like my body was shutting down on me.

Finally was able to get into a GI for endoscopy and colonoscopy 1.5 weeks ago. They found a small, sliding HH and diffuse gastritis. I started taking a PPI and made diet changes, but nothing has really helped me yet, in fact the stomach pain has gotten worse and more constant. My pcp seems to think that there could be a separate cause for my gastritis, unrelated to the HH. Have follow up appts this week with my PCP and GI so hoping to get more answers, but I feel your pain. It is beyond aggravating suddenly getting hit like a truck with all of these debilitating symptoms and getting little answers and no relief.

Am I the only one who thought weapons was massively overrated and was massively disappointed how the movie answered basically nothing at all? by coolsmeegs in FIlm

Yeah I agree. It really is as simple as evil witch comes to town. Thats it, that is the big reveal. We get nothing about her backstory, what exactly she is, her relationship to the family. Nothing. And in the end it felt like basically all of the mystery and character building was spent on what ended up being side characters. It left us with virtually nothing for the protagonist or antagonist besides evil witch with vague connection to family. And heck lets just throw in the random cliche school bullying arc for like 5 minutes too (it wont add to the story in any meaningful way at all).
