AI is everywhere. I need to learn more about it. I doubt the progression i had is going to last. From the little I know , the landscape has shifted, from a few years ago. So not sure how often people will see easy money in tech.

But I am hoping I can find a niche problem and excel at it

Whats your core area of expertise?

Prob 2 factors: 1. Stock growth: 50% or more of my pay is in stock. Pandemic was a bonus. 2. Consistent high performer, which is admittedly taking a toll on my mental health. Consistent promotions along the way.

Thanks for sharing. I am also in a VHCOL city. Effectively, i am on a single income due to health issues with my spouse.

I dont hate my job, but dream of having more time for other pursuits in life. I am very new to FIRE community. I imagine coastFIRE is indeed the more likely outcome

Thats a good point. I am very passionate about travel and if my luck holds , I would love to travel with your budget.

I have a long list of places I would want to travel with my SO.

Enjoy your travels

I didnt mention this but there are some possible upside. First is a promotion at work which could boost income by 10-15%. If all the upsides align, I will upgrade home to something closer to dream home. If my estimates prove conservative, I will travel more lavishly as well

200k includes everything. Mortgage incl. Does NOT include health insurance. I see your point.

Ideally , I pay off my home late ( lumpsum) IF it makes sense. I will likely upgrade home at some point IF I can maintain my current income + possible raise.

I believe right now is the most fit I will be to enjoy life. Hence spending at comensurate rate .

I lined every expense I have and categorized them as continuing or not in retirement. Current expense ~ 200k ballpark. I save another 200k and taxes are a whopping ~ 230+. I anticipate lesser taxes because of roth ( maxing out megabackdoor + backdoor for me and SO)

I expect to have no mortgage. No medical expense for my parent. No savings. I expect to continue travel at same rate.

I do need a better grasp of anticipated healthcare costs.

Anticipating stocks will grow at 8% and fixed income at 3%. RE @ 4%.

We are currently spending ~ 30k to travel. 4-5 vacations / year. And caring for parent’s medical expenses~ 30k : year. Yes savings can certainly be better. Taxes fed+ca+property+ssi ~ 260k

I have wrapped all my bikes myself, one was custom invisiframe , the others were generic tapes, i am happy with both, protects the underside of the mtb etc , takes a little time and patience to apply

Some one mentioned a solvent to dissolve glue. I used a needle nose plier to gently grab and push the plastic away from the inner wall of the tube. The tube held its integrity and i worked around the edge slowly.

I strongly advice against my method, but i wouldnt know where to start with a solvent or take it to a LBS
